It is spring in many parts of the world and I can't help but noticing that flower images are being posted quite often here lately. Also here in the desert area of Southern California, wildflowers are blossoming. California poppies are quite striking color-wise and yes, quite common in certain areas. Here are 2 images of this flower then.

Thanks so much, Helena. Funny you should mention the Beauty College shot -- I was just finishing the PP on a front street sign shot. Not the same caliber or texture, but thought it was interesting.
A few concert shots from the weekend. Part of a festival called the Ides Of March Bacchanalia Festival, in its 10th year. Local bands - some formed just for the event - act as cover bands for a particular group. This was the Chasm of Czar playing material by the Deftones. I was curious how they'd do, as Chasm of Czar is an instrumental rock group, I've never heard any of these guys sing! The definitely pulled it off, lots of fun.
First and last taken with the Contax G 45mm f/2 at f/2, the middle with the Contax G 90mm f/2.8 at f/2.8.
I recently (sort of) re-bought the Leica 28/2.8 Elmarit-M ASPH. This time, it was the new version though (11677).
I'd realized that I miss the 28 Elmarit that I had in 2012/2013, and had sold to fund getting the Summicron-M 28/2.8. Which I ultimately didn't like.
So then I realized there's a new Elmarit, and it's got less FC on sensors with thick cover glass (done for the SL, but improves things on the A7 series as well). It's also got an improved hood/cover system -- which makes it a tad bigger, but the old hood fell off too easily. And it's pretty cheap by Leica standards, especially lightly used.
So far, I am very happy with it! All with the (un-modded) A7Rii

Thanks for sharing these Taylor. I have been interested in this lens since it came out, as it was reported to perform substantially better on digital sensors than the previous versions. Just for the record, do you remember which aperture you used for the first two and the last picture?

Hi Ole - I didn't mark down the apertures used. I think for the second it must be f/2.8 because the shutter speed is 1/500 and that was in the shade. The last is most likely f/5.6. Also I think I missed focus in the first picture.
Just been spending some time catching up with this always fascinating thread. The one shot that really appeals to me from these last few pages is sholt's pair of gulls in Millak harbor. And also Joshua's shot of Anna Garusi and her pooch (must show this to my wife), oh yes and also Helena's Lens Babes and........and.....not forgetting......
