I hadn't thought about the 85/1.8 at all, but your photos make me want to go read your review!
That's great, thank you!
I begin to like that lens even more. It has it's flaws (LoCA wide open, stop down for very critical scenes), but it is really sharp across the frame from f/2.8. Bokeh is better than expected and AF is very fast with a fast camera (A6500).
For me, it's been slow of late but finally had some free time and good weather to test out the Rokinon 14/2.4 SP. So far, the major pluses are sharpness, good corner sharpness wide open, colors are good, even bokeh is decent. Minuses so far is flaring when shooting into the sun. there's also some distortion when shooting at flat objects (architecture) but it seems much less severe than the 14/2.8 and I bet will be corrected with a lens profile in LRCC. I'm looking forward to testing for stars.
Sometimes it does matter than an ultra wide is sharp near its maximum aperture! Here is an 18mm shot with bokeh, and the flowers lined up so the two main subjects have sharp stamens....

Thank you, Chris! I am flattered.... So, you went for the 35mm ZM, huh? Great image! I wish you a speedy recovery!
Thanks, Joshua. I got the 35 ZM three months ago. At times I still miss my rx1r, but ZM's flare resistance and sunstars are just much nicer. These are two aspects of lens design where I'd wish Sony would try to emulate Zeiss.
