Thank you, Gregg! So, you have both Contax and Leica-R 35-70mm lenses, huh? Great images!

This is the picture of the perfect Papagena,I have been keeping in my mind, since I saw that opera for the first time in my life at the age of six.It should be printed on posters in front of every opera wherever Mozart's " Die Zauberflöte" is staged.Outstanding job!
Thank you, Peire! Yes, Papageno, it is! Paolo told me that he designed his costume after the bird of paradise although a lot of people thought it looked like a peacock, to his chagrin .

Inspirational photography on those last few pages, everyone. I used the like button a lot.
Joshua (every time I see your shots from Venice, I forgot how much I hate carnival, if only for a few seconds ), Werner, Ronny, Rene, Manuel, Greggf, Philippe, Helena (as well as everybody else): great job.
Here is one with the 35 ZM. I took this from a ship, which isn't the best venue to take sharp city shots at night . I had to compromise between a relatively fast f-stop, the ZM's field curvature, high ISO and shutter speed. https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/660/33078080430_6ecca0b601_c.jpg
Thank you, Chris! I am flattered.... So, you went for the 35mm ZM, huh? Great image! I wish you a speedy recovery!
So, I went out yesterday to a local State Park. Yes, I did take pictures of wildflowers that are abundant right now in California after the deluge from last winter. But I was playing around with a lens new to me and this is one of the images I got. Just out of curiosity, will anyone care to guess what lens that is? Just for fun....

Joshua...I'll play! FE 50 1.4 ZA
Yes I do have both 35-70's at the moment. I love the Contax, and I've tried the R before as well. Just thought I would change up the style a bit. While very similar in sharpness(the C is a bit more sharp with a bit more pop) they have very diff renderings. The R is better closer to wide open in the corners and has a Leica look(duh!!), and the macro has better bokeh, imo. It's all subjective of course with both able to handle the A7rll sensor with no problem whatsoever. Horses for courses...eventually I'll get rid of one....
What I need to do is evaluate how they look at 35mm vs the Loxia! Just need more time!

, the rendition of that lens surprises me, Gregg and in a pleasant way, I may add. I am posting another image taken with the same lens at wide open below.
The Contax was or still is more popular than the Leica-R counterpart. Contax sold a tons of that lens during the heyday, and even when people started adapting that lens onto another platform. Back then because it was less expensive. I am not sure about the today's pricing. Great images coming off the Leica-R, Gregg!
Finally, California receives plenty of rain/precipitation last winter. I am sure the drought is over by now. That amount of precipitation will trigger or has triggered an enormous wildflower bloom in Southern California. The most striking flowers in terms of colors are the California poppies. The flower petals of this particular flower was rolled up in a weird way and then there are dew drops on them. Anyway, I was focusing more on the dew drops....
This is my group heading out for the week. May only have the internet (affordable internet) for a few more hours so thought I would make a last post. I'll probably have to devote lots of time catching up when I return unless any of the ports have wifi.

I would have answered FE 50 1.4 but it seemed too obvious after G rumors Wait to know if it is much better than MiniOtus
Jim, great snow series... well done!

Thanks Chris, hope you get well soon!
Same capture in both landscape and portrait mode. I prefer the first one but as usual I like both so...
I went walking by a frozen stream the day before the snowstorm, knowing this would all be buried. I fell in right at this spot, but only up to my knee. I was trying to get a vantage point a little to the right and put my foot on something that wasn't quite solid ground. These ice circles were spinning in this circle of water. Might have made a nice video, but I never think of that.
This was with the CV 35 1.7 at f9 -- whatever the stop is between 8 and 11 on that lens.
