Ronny and Joshua -- you guys are in another realm, along with such folks as Fred (and others, too many to mention -- well, there's DigitalAM, Bob, darbo, Manuel, Werner, and Helena, to name a few more).
Such a consistent flow of great images. I am honored by your "likes" and you raise my game by your examples and vision. Thank you!
This is a terrific thread, full of comaraderie.
Sorry to leave off so many great artists -- you are all admired, as shown by my frequent "likes".
I can actually see two faces in there. The first one in the upper right corner, with fairly distinct facial features of the Gallic warrior ,(lush moustache included),plus the neck and the trunk .
The second one is situated slightly to his left and behind. His warrior colleague, from the second row.Not so prominent and forgotten, but engaged in the conflict wholeheartedly.Features washed out and faded away by the rains and winds of the centuries. As most of us.
Both men are from the army of Vercingetorix, encircled in Alesia Oppidum, and defeated later on by everyone-knows-who's troops.Their weapons,as Roman spolia, can be seen on the reliefs of the nearby triumphal arch in Orange,on both sides, over the left and right smaller passeges...(some say spoils are Gallic AND Germanic ,but that's a another long and a very interesting story I'm not going to tell because this thresd is basically about photography)...end of the tail for tonight.

Thanks for pointing to this, your are right !
I had only seen the "first face " on the pic and on location !
Love (always) your fantasy, lets hope all together that these weapons and all others are and will be laid down forever .....and the only thing shot will be and are cameras and pics !
A72+Tamron SP 300/5.6 Macro - small, nice, oldfashioned tele with a very decent performance, despite the muted early spring colours and difficult, everchanging lighting

Yes and yes.Only cameras and shutter shots all over Europe!
And let the current, boorish and harmful ,so called "Polish government" and it;s deus ex machina,Kaczynski, who stood against yesterday's ellection of the Chairman of the European Council will be doomed forever!

Derek...Kolari v4? Wow...now which 35 are you going to prefer on it. Zm or pre? The Pre looks really nice....
the pre-asph is a favorite, nothing new can compare for it's look.
i'm actually not a big fan of the zm 35/1.4. it's epically sharp and "zeissy" with a ton of pop even wide open and has a pretty nice look wide open and close up, but at mid distance the contrast just doesn't fall off in the transition to out of focus which gives a rather unpleasant look for environmental portraits (my main use for a fast 35mm).
i much prefer the cv 35/1.7 from my initial testing (i only shot with it for a few minutes in the rain though). it has a much friendlier transition to oof and a bit more glow wide open at short distance, but is also even sharper at infinity than my rx1 or the zm on the kolari mod (here is a comparison of the zm and cv on the stock and kolari cameras that i posted in another thread).
a few shots with the cv 35/1.7 on the a7 kolari v4 (all wide open):

Jim, thank you! I am very flattered.....
We discovered this particular spot by accident 4 years ago and the images from this were wonderful. So, we went back to this spot and this time around, it seems the rendition was even better. Back then I used a zoom lens and now I resorted to a prime with a faster aperture. So, maybe just the difference in gear selection caused it .
I often pass this abandoned house on my walks and have posted shots from it before, but there was new snow and an interesting super bright (but still warm) light, so I wanted to try out the Lensbaby some more.
These shots will probably generate few likes compared to the beautiful photos above, but I don't mind. As long as I'm having fun all is well.
