I very nearly made a switch to the Nikon Df last week, with that 16mp sensor with its "softer" draw that I'm so attracted to. But then everytime I go out with the A7 as a walkabout, I get a reality check. (Even if a battery only lasts about 15 minutes in this cold we've been having recently – how do you get on with it, Helena? Is it better on the A7II?). It's just very hard to beat from a usability perspective, for me.
Other than just walking around, I brought it to a wedding in october.

Very nice set!
So far I haven't noticed any difference between A7 and A7II when it comes to battery time. The coldest I have tried A7 in is -22C and it was no problem. Even after a couple of hours the battery was still at least half full, but I usually put the camera back in the shoulder bag between shots and that probably helps a lot. My Samsung mobile became sluggish and weird though.
agentbird, I too love your photo with the basset in fog. So moody and original.
A few more from the day out cross-country skiing last week with A7II and CV Ultron 35/1.7 VM.

Thanks! That's encouraging, I must be using old batteries or something. Beautiful winter shots.

Wow, the first image is truly exquisite, Manuel! You got all components working on that one. Composition, exposure, sun, fog, waterfall and of course, Yosemite atmosphere ! Bravissimo!
