Coiling eye-lash viper from CR - another image from the second batch. It was darkish under the rainforest canopy and I had to handheld this as the tripod got in the way. In order to minimize the movement of both the camera and object, I cranked up the ISO more as a last ditch effort. I must say that I am impressed with the noise level or better said, lack thereof. No, it wasn't completely noise free as it was ISO100, of course, and I did run the file through Dfine but the noise and color renditions are impressive nonetheless.

Looks great Joshua
Is yellow viper deadly poison?
How far from the snake are you with the lens ?

Whoah! Super viper. About perfect bodycurves for a snake. Green-yellow color contrast also works fine.
Thank you very much!

Yes, it is poisonous but not deadly. At least that's my understanding. It is a tiny snake BTW, and it is not aggressive, I was told. I was fairly close but still not too close. I held the camera not at eye level but more halfway down and supported the camera using by my elbows against my body. Somehow, I felt safer that way since it was not close at my face, which I had to do had I used the viewfinder. This is another good thing about the mirror less system and its flippable monitor for composition .
On the other hand, this can be deadly although not poisonous.... . Just kidding.
Hi Nadim,
Great image from Zabriskie Point! It was a fun but short shooting with you. I enjoyed your company.
Here are the images from Bryce Canyon in Utah with Manuel LaMantia. The low setting sun is being reflected off the formation in front of these hoodoos adding to the intensity of the colors and making them look translucent, well, almost .
Canon EF-S 15-85/3.5-5.6 is a very good lens.Sharp wide open across the frame and zoom range (stopping 1fstop is enough to get decent corner sharpness at 15mm,and 50-85mm,where it gets slightly softer, but still good). No major problems with CA of any kind, and distortion-all that easily removable in PP.Great, versatile lens in the crop mode.No my no1 allrounder on the way to work and back.

Red toadstool family seem to grow up since my last visit with Canon 17-85:-)
