Q: You said you assigned the AF/MF button to be your zoom magnifying to check focus when using MF lens.
I have C1 assigned. I will assume that was normal since I didn't select any customer button assignments. What do you have as C1.
I don't use the screen as I still use the EVF so I wonder if I reassigned my button as you have it will work for me.
I didn't read about a trick with EVF and focus. The EVF begins to jitter at the contrast areas. Sometimes I notice that before peaking highlight show up.
Thoughts on this.

Thank you Joshua & Ronny.
Joshua, no AF or other aid except focus magnification via Focus Magnifier assigned to AF/MF button. I've been practicing it since late 2013 so I don't even need to recompose after focusing.
Ronny, you used to post portraits of your daughter. What happened? No free modeling now days, I guess
Last Sunday was a lovely fresh autumnal day - if a little chilly first thing on the motorbike, so took a spin around some of Salisbury Plain. A7RII - Contax Zeiss 35-70 f 3.4
Good news for people interested in the Sigma MC-11 AF adapter, especially with TSE lenses: No flocking needed! Internal reflections are basically non-existent, at least no more visible than native Canon cameras. Much better than Commlite and Fotodiox, and of course earlier Metabones, when using ultra-image circle TSE lenses.

With (right hand) index finger on shutter and thumb on AF/MF buttons I can compose --> zoom in/out via EVF and shoot most of my manual fast lenses, mostly wide open, without missing focus.
Again, I assigned buttons as below on my A7R in December 2013 and duplicated settings onto A7RM2 and have been shooting MF lenses this way without any need for LCD screen.
Its very personal, but it works for me.
