The Aletsch Glacier seen from the Jungfrau Pass. It's 23km long. If you melted the glacier, every inhabitant of our planet could get 1l. of water every day for 4 years.

I skied across the the Aletsch Glacier to stay at the Konkordiahütte this winter, the cabin can be spotted above the middle part of the glacier in the left of Kierzkow´s image. This is the final climb up to the cabin :-)
(The stairs have been constructed as the glacier has declined and access to the cabin has become increasingly difficult. The decline of the glacier can also easily be seen in Kierzkow´s image, the glacier used to cover the lower lighter part of the mountain sides along the glacier not too long ago. )

Ryan - great image! I have to ask, is this one shot or did you layer multiple images. If a single image, what iso did you shoot at? Would love to know how you achieved this.
these aren't taken at lake alpine by chance are they?
Hey Derek! Long time. Kids are getting big! No...these were taken at SilverLake, on Hwy 88 just before Kirkwood. I have some Lake Alpine grabs from last year though...
Henryk...love the Contax 85 grab above of the glacier. Really stunning!
Ronny...lovely ice cubes on the ocean!
Bob...nice ...again.
Gregg, that 50 sings in your hands!
Bob, I'm so jealous, I want that 35 1.4.
Ronny, stunning images as always!
Ryan, that Milky Way shot is jaw dropping
Werner, I love the Petzval shots.
Everyone one else I missed, just amazing images!
I tried to hike some of the dunes at Jockey Ridge, but it was a bit to hot to take on all the dunes. I love the look of the trees though:
Thank you for the kind words! It is a single exposure shot at f/6.3 at ISO 6400 for 45 seconds. Other than a adjusting the white balance its pretty much untouched. I may try to do so blending when I get home.
Cheers!
