I think I actually like the shutter sound! Clunky but industrial strength. Well, it's down around 0 degrees farenheit here in Minneapolis but I just had to go for a short stroll with A7R and 35/2.8FE. All handled with auto ISO jpegs. I have yet to download LR5.3RC.
Thanks Jim. It's good to back in Sony-land. And in conversion of these, I took the cheap way . . . just hitting the 'V' key in LR and letting it do it's thing.
Bob, I am glad it's so cold in Minneapolis as I was worrying for a moment that in all this excitement about the new toy you may get overboard with using olive oil you pictured earlier . Uff, cold is good
Seriously, how do you manege snapping images with such small Sony A7; gloves/no gloves, flask?
For me the camera feels small-ish.
Thanks Jako - I only took the olive oil because I thought it too cold to go out at all. Then I said what the hell. I was only out for about 25 minutes. I see you're using a lens I can't wait to try on this camera . . . the zeiss 35/2. Nice images yourself. Hopefully tomorrow I'll get to try it out. The fun has just begun!
Tried using the A7r as a street shooter today. Shutter Priority set to 1/500th and AutoISO. Interestingly the camera chose f4 which I found useful for street. I selected Wide focus mode and let the camera decide on where to focus. When the time came I just jammed the shutter button without waiting for AF confirmation. It nailed focus on both attempts, I was pretty impressed coming from a X-E1.

Hey, as long as you didn't oil yourself up and posted as 'Mr. Weiner" is what I meant
Today I tried Zeiss 2/35 on Metabones w/ tripod collar and it felt just right. The Metabones seems to blend well with Zeiss body and overall it didn't feel like an awkward lens/adapter combo.

Finally got LR 5.3 to download (had problems with it) so I got a chance to play with some RAW's from the A7 and experiment with a few more lenses...
Tokina 17mm f/3.5 OM mount.....single exposure....
I've always been tempted by the Tokina 17, this shot may push me off the fence.
I feel like I'm standing in the room.
