Some shots from last night in the Red Feathers lakes area in northern Colorado. All with A7 and Rokinon 24/1.4.
The second two pictures are after the moon started to rise.

My photography life has been frogless, too until the trip to CR. We live in the desert and there are rattles around here. Talking about rattles, here are 2 images of something that not only frogs have to respect but also humans do... I didn't feel like messing around with this fellow and I only took a few shots .
Great shots. I'm trying to think of how close you'd have to get to that snake to get shots that close at 90mm, but the only thing I know is that it would be way too close for me. I live in rattlesnake country too and people have mistaken me for The Flash whenever I hear/see one.

Thank you very much! Although I used a macro lens for those shots, the actual shooting distance was respectable for that creature although I don't remember how far though. Those images were also cropped. I fully understand your position though. I wouldn't dare to be that close if it were a fast striking mamba.
Yellow Swallowtail butterfly in the garden. Had a Black Swallow Tail come by a few days ago. They must be taking turns to provide me with some practice using the new FE 70-300 OSS G lens.
