Hi Chris.. the shots are from late sep last year
Good to hear ! I'm going back in early October - though only for 5 days as I'm taking my non-photographer wife for a quick tour of the loop whilst we are back in Europe for a month. Hoping to catch the Aurora this time.
I've been doing some proof-of-concept shooting with a Rodenstock APO-Sironar-Digital HR 60/4 I've rehoused in the aperture mount of a old Schneider Componar 150 (15 blades!) and then on to a 25-55mm M52-M42 helicoid backed by a 10mm extension tube with baffling. I finished flocking it this morning and I think I've finally killed all the internal reflections. It also has a 49mm screw-in hood attached. Right now, I've got a temporary connection between the lens and helicoid. I plan to send it off to SKG to get a better part made so it hits infinity at the hard stop. Right now I have to extend the focus about 6mm to hit infinity. Once it's done, I should be able to focus down to 1:2 or very close. As is, I can get to 1:2.36.
I checked it out with flat targets, but I also wanted to see how the resolution held up outside with three-dimensional targets and the sun. I shot this wide open and gave it enough distance to get the bulk of the flower in focus. Not an impressive frame, I know.
Photo taken at 3:25 PM, June 10, 2015 of an old Maple tree at the South River Overlook, Shenandoah NP, Virginia. Cow Parsnips ("Heracleum maximum") plants and flowers are on the left side of the tree. Image taken with my tripod mounted Sony A7r camera and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens, ISO 200, lens set to probably f11 for 1/180 second. Processed in LR6.
(Captured while originally trying SR app, however at the end I believe this was a single exposure due to the details still available in the sky. Not sure anymore, since I am not aware whether use of the SR app is indicated in the file meta data anywhere.)
Below are some less stunning images. However, what is stunning about them is that they were entirely edited on the iPad from native RAW files in Lightroom CC. I am very pleased with the functionality and usability especially with native RAW file capabilities. Now, I can further lighten my load. This is pretty slick.
All my edits were migrated via the cloud to my desktop so all I had to do was resize for web and add my frame.
