How are you liking the Techart adapter with the CV Ultron? I was thinking of getting the adapter with that lens in mind.
It's not bat. Not fast as native lenses and ones or twice a day I was forced to remove a battery to "resurrect" AF, but all in all it much better and faster then manual focus especially with Nokton 50/1.5 and Heliar 75/1.8 wide open.
It's a bit problematic to use it only with one of my lenses - old Tele-Elmar 135/4. This lens changes its length when focusing too much, so you have to focus approximate manually and then adapter can finish focusing.
Great shots Bob! Looks like you've gotten a case of Dust Bunnies going on! I hate how the a7R sensors attract dust. Not had such an issue since the original 5D.
A few recent shots playing with Sony and Canon lenses.
The last two are not artistic shots, just tests, but I'm jazzed that the 50L is nailing focus with AF through the Commlite adapter! And no funny edge stuff from the sensor -- just clean looking color and details. Warrants more investigation.
Anyone know why the Sony a7R only goes to f/1.3 on the aperture range and not f/1.2 of the lens (or f/1.0 of some other lens?).
(Hey -- that's a bird in sky of the train tracks shot -- not a dust bunny! )

Thanks Jim. And thanks for pointing out the dust bunnies. I thought I had them all but I was editing to late into the evening and missed a few. I'm a 'lens changer' and therefore more prone to collecting dust on my sensor . . . especially when there's a breeze. I don't know if it's any more or less to when I shot Canon but for me, a function of my sensor being exposed to the elements frequently while in the field. Fortunately, it's easy to clean!
Another set from earlier in the evening. The restaurant was situated on one of the many small islands scattered off the coast. The first is with the CV Ultron 35/1.7 and the rest with the Zeiss Contax 100/3.5
Photo taken October 18, 2015, in Magic Hour about 14 minutes before sunset, Big Meadows, Shenandoah NP, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens, ISO 100, lens set to f11 for 1/40 second. Exposure corrected by +0.48 Stops and processed in LR6.
Some shots taken of Lake Champlain while on a business trip to Burlington, Vermont. I brought my A7r2 and just the FE 24-70 f/2.8 GM lens with me. All hand held. The other side of the lake is New York State. The sunrise picture was taken from my Hotel room on the 6th floor of the Marriott Hotel overlooking the Lake. I'm really enjoying the 24-70 lens for a one lens walk around kit. I use the Peak Design sling style strap and the camera and lens remained comfortable while walking around for over 2 hours.
My mid-May return to work on my old family house in hometown Aberdeen, WA coincided perfectly (no planning, just happened) with the height of the rhododendron season. I took advantage of the stroke of luck to go on several local walk-abouts in the residential areas to document the flowering plants and adjacent buildings.
This first set starts outside Canyon Court on 5th Street, on up the hill toward Broadway, the heart of the struggling middle-class single-home area of the city.
2 from Palermo at night
(first one is Teatro Massimo, aka "The Opera House from Godfather 3")
2 from the Sistine Chapel.
Thank you everyone for your 'likes' - this completes my series of posts of 118 photos from 2+ wks in Sicily and Southern Italy during May, 2016. In case you missed any and want to see more of what Sicily has to offer, full set can be seen here.
