In the menu system, use a function key for IBIS focal length!! I've got mine setup for Lower 3...especially when you use lots of legacy lenses, like I do!

Don't mean to get too off track from this thread, If I put a Voigtlander 10mm E mount lens on my A7RII, I need to manually set the IBIS to 10mm, and later if I change the lens to a Voigtlander 15mm E mount, I need to set it to 15mm, so on and so forth every time? I just did a quick experiment, I changed the Steady Shot setting from auto to manual, set it to 15mm for the CV 15mm E mount lens, dismounted the 15mm, put a Sony 90mm G macro (stabilized) on, I needed to go back to change Steady Shot mode from manual back to auto.
I have been using a Canon 24-70mm L II and a 24mm TSE on my A7RII and the A7II, never set the FL in the cameras for the IBIS, so these lenses were not properly stabilized? How do I set the FL for the 24-70 zoom? Learned something everyday.

Hey Douglas,
The IBIS settings either let you do manual or auto. Auto mode detects which camera is attached. For example, my Contax N 24-85/Kipon adapter, which allows me to change f-stop through the camera via the adapter reads the focal length and adjusts the IBIS. Similar to a native lens. Mf lenses need to be adjusted, well, manually. I have a shortcut in the function menu(lower 3) which allows me to adjust it quickly.
As far as using canon lenses, I would suspect if using an Lae3/4 that gives exif and allows control of aperture, then I would think that the IBIS would auto adjust as well.
Superb images last couple pages. Everyone!

The long and short of it is: If there are electrical contacts that talk to the camera, you don't need to set the focal length. So, the E-mount Voigtlanders and adapted Canon lenses when used with a smart adapter will automatically pass the focal length info to the camera. If you are using a lens without an electrical connection (adapted manual focus lenses, plus a few of the Samyang lenses, for instance), you'll need to change the focal length in camera, as there's no way for the camera to know what lens is mounted.

Thank you Gregg and Jordan! I was scared for a while.
I used the Canon lenses with Metabone IV adapter on the A7RII and the A7II with Steady Shot left at "auto", so the cameras automatically detected the FL of those lenses then. Also good to know I don't need to worry about manually setting FL for the CV 10mm and 15mm E mount lenses for the IBIS.
