Came across a baby fieldfare (Turdus pilaris) on the walking path. It had a "crazy professor hairstyle" going on. When I crouched down to take photos it came hobbling towards me and started jumping up and down, chirping really loudly, like it wanted me to feed it. Passersby thought it was very funny and I'm probably on Instagram now.
René, Ronny, Bob, Jordan, Gregg, Austin, Joshua, superlative stuff! You post more superlative pictures than there are superlative words in my vocabulary!

Philippe, thank you so very much!
A few more images from Mono Lake shortly after sunrise on the second day. The images here show the tufa formation being directly lit by the rising sun. The water in the lake is actually greenish; the blues are reflected off the sky .

Thank you very much, Manu!
Taking a break from landscape.... Here are two images from the ghost town, Bodie. They were captured at two abandoned stores at the turn of the century. I had to press the camera against the glass store window and had to shield the edges to minimize reflection, not quite successfully, I may add but the remaining reflection would not matter much and it actually adds to flair of the bygone era.

Was out doing yard work a found a colony of Japanese Pit Vipers in the garden. Rather poisonous things could easily kill a dog or small child. Taken on the a7rii and the Batis 25 at f/2.

And you waited to take pictures? I would have brought out a big gun and gotten rid of them. HATE snakes... no matter whether poisonous or not.
