I just sold mine to Luz about 2 hours ago. She will use that in combo with the Sigma 150-600mm in Costa Rica. Mine worked well with my Sigma lens but I sold everything Sigma in order to use more native lenses now. Some folks had issues with the MC-11, especially when they attempted to use Canon lenses with it. Sigma stamped a warning in capital letters on the MC-11 that it is to be used only with compatible Sigma lenses. But that still didn't stop some folks of using that on their Canon lenses. Who could blame them ?
Here is a practice shot from this morning for Costa Rica using the FE 70-300mm lens. Yes, it is a significant crop of the actual file but still quite decent, I would say. I actually had another and better image of a more colorful hummingbird in perfect focus but too bad a part of the flower stalk covered some 50% of that bird. Oh, well, that's real nature photography. Unlike at feeders, those hummingbirds move around really fast, making it really tough to capture them really well. ...Show more →
I'm still waiting on a final verdict on the 70-300. If it's as decent as my Canon 100-400, it may be the way to go for an all-native lens lineup.
I'm ready to do away with the last of my Canon and Sigma lenses and go all native.

Joshua, thanks for the info about Sigma adapter... was a question to all but I was pretty sure you had already tried

No problem, Manuel. Those are great images there. What lens did you use for those? The Contax 100-300mm?

A few users reported that their lens exhibits some corner issues at 300mm or one side is softer than the other side. I am not sure where the problem is with those reported cases but for what I bought the lens for, which is capturing 3-dimensional objects, I care less how the corners perform. My copy easily shows plenty of sharpness over easily 75% of the central frame at the long end, even at wide open, mind you. So, it has to do with expectation, I would say. I do not have the Mark II version of the 100-400mm. Although I was tempted to get that a few times but this lens won me over because of the native mount. And I will be using my Canon 400mm DO Mark II to cover longer reach.
There is a good chance that we will be going to Bolsa Chica next weekend. If you are not doing anything, please feel free to join us. Not sure whether it will be on Saturday or Sunday though but I can PM you the exact day as soon as i find out in the next few days. You can try out that lens and judge it for yourself. How's that?
I also turn wooden pens on a lathe as a hobby, so I occasionally get to combine both photography and woodworking. Here is a lovely cocobolo rollerball shot with A7II and 90mm FE.

Bob: Voigtlander's American distributor should really give you at least sample of their next wide angle lens to test for free for a few weeks. Those shots with the 10mm are excellent.
Chris, yeah, it would be great to get something in advance to test out for a while. Never had the opportunity. Thanks for the comments on my 10mm shots. It's a fun lens. Now I need to decide whether or not to keep the cv15III . . . aka, Son of Choppy!
In front of our house, we have some maple trees. In one of our maples, a female Northern cardinal has built a nest. In the nest are a few fledglings. I don't know how many because I don't want to disturb the nest. A beautiful red male cardinal watches over the nest from the roof of our house. I grabbed a few shots from our window.
Here is one where the light in the eye of the female turned out nice. Heavy crop with the 70-200L II. Our son is very fascinated by all this. We have to be careful not to disturb the family.
Here is another one a few days later with the tele 1.4x with Silent Shutter. Worked well to reduce shake. 1/320 sec at f4.0 and ISO 400 Mamma and babies are doing well from what I could tell. They feed regularly.
Manuel...love the macro grabs up above! Really nice.
Dave..nice set with the Sigma.
Ecarlino...Love Sicily!
Bob...Cool IR shots. Really like the Voigt 15 grabs above, too.

glad i'm not the only one who appreciates this lens, you are using it on the kolari mod right?
I actually decided to swap the kolari for a stock cam, largely for the loxia 21 and because I only had one lens that I was using a lot that was really benefiting.
Tonight's sunset (visiting Kansas City, Missouri) with the Canon EF 35mm f/1.4L II handheld. Accidentally had the aperture at f/5 (instead of f/8) for some reason. Oh well, still looks sharp.

did you test the loxia on the modded camera first by chance? i've been getting more and more tempted by the loxia.
I meet a really nice tame fox that followed me for some kilometres on my last hiking trip in Norefjell (Norway). I gave her some apple and she was happy and smiled a lot
All pictures were taken with Sony A7r2 and Loxia 50mm. First picture is cropped a bit.
90mm TS-E used to bring all the bells in focus with tilt. I really wish it would focus just a bit closer. Nikkor 85mm PC is quite a bit better due to 1:2 magnification.
