Driving back from Haleakala National Park, I ran across these beautiful trees full of purple blossoms. The road was lined with them. I had great light that morning.
idle curiosity led me to try a direct comparison between the jupiter-9 and the contarex 85/2. both are ostensibly the same design. the jupiter was simply copying the old contax rangefinder design using the same equipment while the contarex is a possibly slightly tweaked zeiss postwar update. who knows how representative my copies are of each.

i'm not 100% sure i managed to match focus completely, but here is a comparsion of 100% crops of the first images through the aperture range, and here is a similar comparison of the second group of images.
Philippe -good to hear from you again!
Wilhelm - That speeding car shot is priceless
Everything on the thread looks good. The creativity is really inspiring.
Here is an attempt to try a different style and subject, It is painful to change shooting and PP processes. This is a low natural light photo taken with my least favorite focal length, 50mm at my least favorite aperture, wide open. A7RII with Zeiss Contax 50/1.7.
Wilhelm amazing capture. Love it
Joshua, stunning shot !!!
Jack, wonderful set.
I was experimenting with the Smooth Reflection app this afternoon with the Loxia 21, and even with a solid tripod, wind can make it quite difficult. The app works well and easy to use.
A7ii + FE55. This 55 I borrowed from a friend. Something still keeps me from purchasing this lens; it might be the price tag "for a fifty", its ugly shape or the AF glue thing, I don't know.
