For more than an hour we had been following tire tracks down this "trail" which was a dried up stream bed ("wash or arroyo") in the Somoran Desert of Arizona until we could go no further.

Really great to hear this. The Tamron SP series is impressive. I got the 90mm Macro and love it, but would love to add the 35mm and 85mm as well. Great results!
Normally I'm not a big fan of hypersaturated landscapes, but it really works in this shot. Very nice!

Finally got around to trying the SR app. Not the best sky for it tonight (not enough clouds). Absolutely amazed at the DR with the camera.

Testing my new 85mm GM lens today. It's well centered and so far I really like the feel of it on my A7r2. I use the Grip as I have big hands and it feels well balanced. And the manual focus feels better than any other AF lens I've tried. Here are a couple of pics of my two dogs Coco and Clyde both Chocolate Labs. Both were taken hand held w/o IBIS (I had't remembered to put it back on after taking some tripod mounted test shots with my new Leica WAKE). I can't believe how wonderful this lens renders. I basically made a slight adjustment with Levels in PS very minor sharpening and that was it. Both of these were taken at f/1.7 and ISO 100.

I love how compact and light this lens is! It has a real feeling of a fine piece of equipment. I tested it very quickly using the same scene I used for the CV15III M and Loxia 21 corner tests that I did a couple of weeks ago. The corners are looking very good but I need to get a better feel on focusing the lens. I took several shots at f-stop 4, 5.6, 8, & 11 at each focal length and I found that if I focused in the center of the scene just a little bit before the infinity hard stop the corners looked better. Not sure if that is normal with this lens? Do you find this to be the case?
I'll be doing some testing of the WATE over the next few days in between some busy work related travel.

Hi Chuck,
Sounds good so far. The focus difference that you are seeing may have to do with the adapter, could be the lens also.
Have a look at my posting in the CVIII Thread. It may give you some idea (s). As I mention in the description the lower left and the lower right 100% images have some limitations due to flowing water and the shape of the rock at the lower rock (also, it is possible that the focus did not quite cover the most forward portion of the rock but my suspicion is it is mainly the shape and change in angles of the rock):

Thanks for the tips. I will do some tests tomorrow with the WATE. I think I may have found a problem with the way my adapter was fastened to the lens today while I was testing it quickly. I'm using a MetaBones Leica M to E adapter which was the same one I used with my CV15 III-M. I noticed that after awhile the aperture numbers weren't lining up perfectly with the white dot on the lens hood. Tonight I was checking the lens out and removed the WATE from the adapter and reconnected it. The aperature numbers now line up perfectly with the white dot on the lens hood. It was a tight fit putting the lens on the adapter and I think when I first did it the lens was not completely on but it was so tight it felt as if it were. Tomorrow I'll see if the infinity hard stop works with the adapter properly connected. One reason I really don't go for adapted lenses but I'll get over it with this WATE. If the image quality improves tomorrow with the adapter seated properly I will be thrilled. The fact that it was as good as it was today not properly seated amazes me.
