a few from a quick walk around Chicago (testing the Batis 18) during harsh afternoon sun and cloudless skies:
(no adjustments other than trying to tame the highlights - i guess i should have at least straightened a few of these, but i wanted to show the lens w/o adjustments)
It's not as exciting as the new Batis 18mm, but I'd wanted this lens badly back in 1979-80, and couldn't afford it, making due with the FDn 28/2.8, which was a pretty good lens.
But last week I found a killer deal on kehoutlet on eBay for the FDn 28/2 and snapped it up for all of $69, including shipping. Fingers crossed for days waiting for it to arrive.
It got here today, and looks and performs great. I'm stoked, and will take it up soon on a trip to Western Washington to try it against the Sony 28/2 FE.
Here are a few of the first photos from it.
(I also bought an FDn 200/4, which I'm waiting to arrive, for the embarrassingly low price of $25.45, including shipping. !!!)

Dale, really liking the dark and light on the second one. You make quite a convincing case for the 24-240
Thanks! The lens does not get a lot of love on this forum or anywhere else. Sometimes I think I should hide the lens identification. I love the lens. I tend to shoot everything underexposed and then bring up the lights in PP. The RAW files made with this lens have unbelievable depth. I usually carry this lens along with the Leica WATE. If I stumble and fall, I will have to remember to protect the Leica and sacrifice the Sony.
Joshua, Superb set of shots !!!
Mike, wonderful capture!
Rene, great series. You keep me guessing as to the next lens you are taking for a test
Ronnie, stunning shot !!

Thank you very much, Charles!
Here are some random shots from the valley floor using the GM 24-70mm lens. The last image displays the size of those buttes relative to cars!
