I would kill for waterfalls around here in the desert. Nice shots
Guy - Thanks. And great shot at Arches! I was there two years ago and had no clouds for 2 of the 3 days there .
I was just out in the desert at Joshua Tree and Valley of Fire in Nevada so getting back to some running water is nice. I love the diversity we have across the country!

A few from a hike yesterday in a local park with several nice waterfalls. I was practicing some focus stacking and used HeliconFocus software to processed the stacks. I'm finding the focus stacking on static landscape scenes can really increase the overall sharpness and DOF with this 42 megapixel sensor. It seems harder to nail an accurate hyperfocal distance shot getting everything in focus from inches away to the far distances with this high megapixel camera. I'm getting pretty fast stacking shots with both manual focus and autofocus. Now if Sony would give us a really nice dedicated joystick or touch screen that would be so much easier!
I used my new 82mm Firecrest IRND ND 1.5 MC filter on the first two and my new Breakthrough 82mm X3 10 Stop ND on the last shot. 82-67 Step up ring for the Batis....Show more →
Nine ones Chuck. Have you looked into Sony's "smooth reflection" app? It could eliminate the need for ND filters under certain circumstances. I keep begging Sony to give us a focus stacking app.

I haven't used the "smooth reflection" app. I'm thinking about trying it out and maybe use it in combination with the ND filters. I really like these two ND filters a lot though and so far I haven't had any issues with color casts with either filter.

Nice B&W, Werner. You don't have the corner softness issues with the 24 T&S on the A7rII when it's shifted? Some folks seem to have problems with both the 17 T&S and the 24 on the A7RII and there is this whole thread just for that: https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1415739/0
Doug, i use the 24 TSE very often, like that lens a lot.
No, i can't find any problems with that lens, shifted or not. Even shifted panos are great.
Was always wondering about the reports from some having problems. Have posted many pic's with it here and on Flickr.
Maybe i am lucky with my adapter (MB IV).
BTW the A7R was perfect as well.
Have a nice evening

I shoot alot with two bodies now, M9 and A7.mod. Less dust and lens changes. Usually I use the A7 for 50 and longer, M9 for 35 and shorter, though of course I break that rule from time to time. With A7 I used 50 cron, 75 and 90 Summarits, 135/3.4 and then my longer stuff, 180 ED, 300 and 500 nikkors.
Charles, it took me years to appreciate the 50 cron. What you show, and what few realize, is the lens is so good close. According to Puts it actually outperforms the 50 Lux ASPH at MFD. Yet that seems to take nothing away from incredible infinity performance at 5.6 +
The Moab area is really off the hook for all sorts of photography. The town itself is a great subject. If you like cars, there are all sorts of very interesting wheeled vehicles. Wide range of people. The nature has many "looks" and the flowers alone are really sweet. You see DSLRs everywhere, which means few bat an eye when you shoot. People of all types are very very friendly: strikingly so.
You can fly in wearing a bathing suit, and rent anything you would ever need in Moab. A fully modified Jeep is around 200 a day. Of course I drove down with all my gear from Idaho.
I wanted to add another "flower" lens to the 100mm Trioplan and 135mm Steinheil I use, so I bought a 50/2.9 Trioplan for Altix after finding they could be mounted on a 42mm adapter with a bit of dremmeling. I took it out for a spin at an auto museum today (flowers were not so great)
