Derek, there is a stunning range between eyes pupils 'aperture' in the B/W shot
yeah, i thought that merited a rare selfie. i had to get my retina looked at (nothing to be concerned about) so it was like that for a few hours. makes manual focus super difficult btw.

Great selfie, very well focused.
Retina check you say? I thought you moved to Portland
Thank you Helena ! Another wonderful series
Joshua, amazing shots. The lighting almost seems as harsh in Australia
Jack, superb sets! Great PP'ing and feel.
This evening again with the Loxia 21, almost same setup as last night with the Batis 25, except f/5.6 and ISO 4000 @ 1/3 sec handheld. The Loxia 21 continues to amaze me! I do prefer this over the Batis 25
Photo taken October 20, 2015 about 18 minutes after sunrise, Big Meadows, Shenandoah NP, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica M 90mm f2.5 Summarit lens, ISO 100, lens set to f11 for 1/80 second. Processed in LR6.
Thank you, Jack! Your images from China are great; I truly enjoy the "From above" set .

Oh, yes. There are a lot of deserts or desert-like conditions in the Southwest. The elevation of the mesa is 8,500 feet. In April it is warm during the day but it was (almost) freezing cold at night.

Second shot on a tripod with Loxia 21 @ f/5.6
You made me think about my lens lineup now..... For sure, the starburst of the Loxia is quite a bit prettier than that created by the Batis.
Haven't used my FE 55 since i got my GM85 last week.. Yes it's heavy but it's sooo worth it.
After a week of shooting and 800 frames yesterday during a photo job i don't even notice the noise.
Can't show any pictures from that here but i'm happy and the client is happy :-)
However i did notice on occasion a difficulty using eye focus, good lighting, but just refused to find the eye. strange. It was mostly on one specific person and yes she had real eyes.. Otherwise i find the focus very good.
One obvious thing is that i feel the battery usage has gone up, not sure how much but it has
The sun is getting lower in the valley. The mesa where these were captured is some 200 feet over the valley floor. The reddish colors disappeared pretty fast after the second image. Too bad the sparse clouds disappeared, as well
I also took a vertical 6-image panoramic image during this period. Before processing, the total file was a little over 1GB and after converted to TIFF with some cropping, the file size is a little over 1.6GB. Too big to post is here anyway but the details on the monitor are amazing.

Joshua - The color and clarity you achieve regularly is greatly shown in these spectacular images. Just Excellent!
