With all the 'noise' about the current Sony 85GM, I'm glad I have the Batis 85. I hope whatever the root cause is that there's a satisfactory ending to the story as the GM looks like an outstanding lens.
Very nice set Mike! I haven't used my 24mm T&S for a while. I read some not so encouraging reviews of the 24mm TS on the A7RII. Your shots look very sharp to my eyes. Thanks for sharing.
This one was taken at Mono Lake in a cloudless dusk. The lake's waters were a little rough so I exposed it to 4 seconds + the Smooth Reflections app (128 shots). Total exposure was about 8 minutes
Thanks Gregg and Bob!
Regarding the SR App, it's a must have for Sony shooters, especially when you don't have ND filters with you. (Or your lens does not allow one).
I use it a lot in complement to my 3-stop filter as it does not add any color cast or vignetting like a 10-stop filter.
Take care,
Fred
Another from the Loxia 21 from my trip to Northwest Arkansas. This is on the way to Beaver Lake. You can see the War Eagle mill (red building) on the left near the river.
Young people in Tibet are embracing the modern world with gay abandon, and are such fun to be around. Many are just so cool. I knew I wanted a shot of this guy, and he was happy enough to go along. CY 100/3.5

i was doing some bokeh tests with the Batis 85 (the subjects aren't necessarily very interesting)

You have no idea how much you just amped me up. I have both of these coming in tomorrow and can't wait to start shooting. A perfect sampling of both cameras! Ooooo so excited!
Now if only I had an A7RII instead of my baby A7. I think I'll wait for the A7RIII I can live with this guy for a bit longer.
Another day, another Mono Lake image.
The dusk colors only came towards the end. It was work the wait.
Taken with the FE 24-70/2.8 GM
The Exif is showing f/14, 10 seconds but that was only done for DOF towards the foreground rocks. I also used the longer exposure to smooth out the waters.
The main exposure for the mountains and the sky was f/9 and 4 seconds.
I was away for just a couple days and the number of superb images posted here in the meantime is simply incredible. I already said it before but I will say it again, this thread is truly impressive! Kudos to everyone!
I would like to dabble into astrophotography a little. After some research I decided to get a Sigma 20mm f/1.4 Art lens. So, after some basic testing, I took this lens to the Sin City to try it out. The aperture for this particular shot was stopped down and it would not be my intention of doing so for shooting stars, but since the sky was gorgeous after a lot of rain, I couldn't resits not taking some regular shots. Here is one of them.

Nice shot. It's a postcard Joshua!
This is an intriguing lens. If I didn't have the Loxia 21/2.8, it would be in my bag.

Thank you, Fred! I would have bought the Loxia, I was temped so many times, had it not been for the idea of going a little into astrophotography. At f/2.2-f/2.5 or so, that Sigma lens simply delivers just awesome results for that purpose. But that lens is huge and heavy . The real test for that will be in about 10 days in Monument Valley and Horse Shoe Bend. The Loxia would be awesome for just landscape but I will have to settle for the Batis 25 or the G Master zoom for that purpose.
