I need more than 24 hours in a day, seriously I do. Life, processing, forums ... sigh.
Bit weird - after uploading to Smugmug the shot was exposed more than the original, so I uploaded it here to FM and the same thing happened. So now I've had to guess at exposure after uploading and reduced it at both 0.3 + then at 0.75 of a stop.

EDITED. Sorry guys it's impossible for me to get this uploaded as it's supposed to be so I've deleted it : see this screen capture, on the left is as it's supposed to be and on the right as it appears in Smugmug or when uploaded directly to FM. Horrible, very flat. Very strange.
Such a constant flow of superb photographs. Some of my favourites must be René’s stunning golden paddle boarder shots from a few pages back, or perhaps
Bob’s from Banff, or Werner’s from Arles, or…..or…..

Probably, I got lucky the first time around when I was able to capture a reddish egret in action while it was having breakfast two weeks ago. I have been going to the same location, Bolsa Chica Wetlands every weekend since then and the reddish egret was nowhere to be seen . Oh, well.
While we were walking around there, we noticed that this little gu just landed fairly close to us. I approached it even a little closer and it just stayed there, chirping away. So, here it is with some cropping. The lens used is Canon 400mm f/4 DO Mark II with a Canon 1.4X TC Mark III for a total effective FL of 560mm. It is not really an action shot but it just shows that this lens is impressively sharp, even with a TC while being fairly compact and relatively light weight, for a 400mm lens, that is. And yes, the AF with Metabones IV works!
I did a shoot for a friend and her brother today, for gifts for their parents. With sibling shoots like this, it can be tough to make sure that they look comfortable together, but don't look like a couple. That was also their biggest concern. I tried my best. All of these are with my A7 II and Canon 100mm f/2 except the first, which is with the Rokinon 85/1.4.
A few architectural details from one of the many Brutalist buildings in Canberra, ACT, Australia. This one is 'Open Systems House', formerly 'Churchill House' from early 1970's. The full set here : http://johnjovic.com/latest2.html
