I was out of town on business this week and decided to take a quick side trip to Southern Alberta to Red Rock Coulee. It is a place I have always wanted to visit due to the unique geological formations. This location is known for the large spherical sandstone concretions which measure around 8ft across. They are scattered around the badlands....
Thanks for he kind words. Once again, I am blown away by the great images on this thread! Here are a few more in my Ghost town junk yard series. A7RII FE 24-240mm
Northern Sumatra. In a place where humans and apes, locals and tourists, wild and constrained, overlap in ways not altogether flattering for anybody. And yet a beautiful place, literally-- and figuratively. More challenging than expected in many ways.
Photo taken at 7:34 AM on August 12, 2015, Big Meadows, Shenandoah NP, Virginia. I am not sure what these flowers are but I took this photo while photographing deer. Image taken with my tripod mounted Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 400, lens set to about f11 for 1/320 second. Exposure corrected by +0.12 Stops and processed in LR6.
The weather has been dreary all week and it looks like it'll be the same for at least another week. My partner has ten days off starting tomorrow and we had plans for skiing and various little car trips. Disappointing!
Anyway, CV Ultron 35/1.7 arrived on Tuesday and since there is no weather improvement in sight, yesterday I decided to ignore the rain and took a walk to try it out. Hard to assess a lens in this dull light but first impression is positive.
Really liked the mossy and curly branches and will return on some day with better light (and no rain!) and see if I can get some better shots. Perhaps wait until all snow is gone since I find the bright patches distracting.
Thank you Gregg and likewise (#2 is my favorite - nice creative effect of flare)!
Funny, the rain turn into a heavy snowfall. I guess the April weather arrived early this year...
One last image from the Vatican museum. No, not of ceiling anymore regardless how pretty the ceiling is, it is getting old. How about a spiral stair case, for a change?
