Great shots Gregg with 90/2.5! Are these wide open? Did you use some ext.tubes? thx Mark
Thanks Mark! The first two were WO, the last was f8-11. No tubes as the 90 does 1:2 normally. But I'm still looking for the 1:1 adapter for mine(Contax mount)
Gregg
Trying to annoy Contax G45 with annoying backgrounds this lens does not have usable boke wide open, but f/2.8 it rarely disappoints. More aperture blades would be nice thou, specially when shooting f/4 and f/5.6... Kolari mod did improve corner boke quite a lot, mainly by having less field curvature in corners - however at larger distances there still is some field curvature remaining in extreme corners.

Carl Zeiss Planar T* 2/45 G @ f/2.8, 1/320s, A7m @ ISO 100 - on larger distance the field curvature is still there (focus distance: ~5 meters / ~15 feet)

Haven't posted photos on FM in ages, but I've been on the hunt for a wide lens for my A7ii.
I happened to have an old Minolta MC 28/2.8 left over from some film gear i bought for my students (back when we still used film). I got an adapter for it, but it's a little...lacking.
I started this quest by picking up a Nikon 28/2.8 ais, a venerable option. I've got a couple zeiss 28/2.8 mmjs in my sights, but i'm not sure how much better they'll do. the nikon shows the dimensionality of eyelashes, which is a feat many lenses built for portraiture can't even pull off, in my experience anyway.
enough blather, time for cats! (which are a main purpose of this system lol...the trusty AF nikon gear gets to shoot the boring stuff :P)
First is my best friend's kitty, Lunesta. And then my lil' beastie, Flash. Also, bonus points to anyone who can guess what the 2nd pic was processed with. (the first is straight out of the camera). both at iso 1600, wide open.
EDIT: is there a way for these not to look soft and awful? on my photobucket they're perfectly fine full size, so it's just how they're displaying here.
Never regretted buying the 55 1.8.
Had a lot of photographing fun last weekend at the Naturalis Biodiversity Center in Leiden, the Netherlands. Only used the 55.
Here some colors An a nice scene of the wild....

Two more images of the same Reddish Egret from Bolsa Chica. The lens used is Canon 300mm f/2.8 IS Mark II with Canon 1.4X TC Mark III. It was early in the morning: some parts of the area were still in the shade while the sun lit other parts already.
Joshua, imperial shots
