I had the Sigma 35mm Artnin 3 different flavors before; Canon EF, Nikon, and Sony A-mount. The sharpness in all three were excellent even at wide open. The bokeh, compared to that generated by the Sony FE 35mm f/1.4 is not so smooth and a tad nervous. However, I didn't do any side-by side comparison just from reviewing existing images. Plus, that Sigma lens even by itself is fairly big and heavy and then you still need an adapter.
The sigma lens is big and heavy and the FE 35 1.4 has better bokeh but the sigma was £460 new and the FE 35 is £1150. Is a no brainer for me personally. The small increase in IQ isn't worth the premium to me. The sigma also feels light to me as I've been lugging about an adapted sigma 85
