Few more from Yosemite. Hope you guys are not getting tired of these! Tonight was the best night I think for Horsetail--at least since I arrived on Friday. Getting past peak, but the sky was clear, the wind blowing, and the water flow was good. Here are a couple rough edits with NO saturation added (nor vibrance). Cross post from Landscape Forum. Also, three images from in and around Cooks Meadow.
Horsetail with A7r2 and Leica R 180/2.8 with 1.4x apo extender:
Cooks meadow tree at sunrise with FE 35/2.8 (had some help with post on this one):
Upper Yosemite Falls rainbow, again with Leica R 180/2.8 apo, polarizer:
Finally, fun with Upper Yosemite Falls, Leica R 280/4 apo with 2x Apo extender:

HelenaN, congrats on your new Loxia 50.
I followed your discussions regarding various 50mm lenses, including Nokton 50/1.5
Seboh and Samuli made very valuable pro and con comments and I tend to agree with their opinions. Nokton 50/1.5 LM hardly excels as a landscape lens, and it definitely doesn’t have Zeiss’ or C/Y punch and in-your-face presence. The lens, thought re-designed and re-coated, still shows its similarities to 1950s classic with low contrast and gentler rendering. For that, it maybe preferred for specific applications like close-mid distance, wide open, moody shots. Nokton has clearly more similarities with Leica Summilux-M 50 than with most Zeiss lenses. Considering its compactness, low weight, speed it should be a great companion to your new Loxia 50. Heck, both Nokton and Loxia 50 are smaller and lighter than your MC Rokkor 58! And you know, you can’t get away with only one 50mm lens ...Show more →
Thanks for your input! Yes, I'm beginning to realize that one needs more than one 50mm. Four is over-the-top though, so the C/Y 50/1.7 has to go. Need to think some more about the Rokkor and Nokton.
Completely agree about the Nokton 50/1.5 (I have the new VM btw.) and moody is a good description. Also, it has a slight tendency for "swirly backgrounds" at f/1.5, which I like. Very nice portraits btw.
Wow Gary, very unique and interesting winter road photo!
Photo taken at 7:39 AM on June 9, 2015 in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia not far from Big Meadows. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Leica M WATE (Wide Amgle Tri-Elmar) f4 set to 21mm; ISO 200, lens set to probably f8 for 1/60 second. Exposure corrected by +0.24 stops. Processed in LR6.
Last October when my Sister and Brother in Law came over from the UK they brought with them a Crystal Ball. Not for Fortune Telling but for taking weird pictures. Apparently the Crystal Ball caused much consternation among the security people at the airport! I didn't have much of a play with it but came across this one.
Gary...killer grab!
Derek...I'm liking the rendering of the g28...especially in your hands.
Helena...couldn't agree more about 50's! And looking forward to more of your upcoming Loxia snaps!
Jack...welcome back! Awesome portraits!
Luvwine....totally awesome grabs of Yosemite! Any snow at all? We're heading there next week.
Everyone else...great grabs!

The brand new Tesla X in person. First one I've seen....really cool car, with "auto-drive"
The mask carnival in Venice is not always about the mysteriousness of folks of unknown age wearing masks - some young or younger folks do not mind revealing their face, at least partly . it is all about fun of wearing costumes and being photographed, feeling like celebrities.
The woman in dark outfit wears special contact lenses to get that kind of look of her eyes. BTW, that image was captured using my favorite lens for that event, the FE 35mm f/1.4 at wide open. The last image was also captured at wide open using Batis 85mm.

Finally but I think you have a typo; you must mean forty, not four...
Summer 2016 close-up/flower lens - hopefully my subjects will be more lively than these 2015 versions... Rodenstock APO-Rodagon-N 1:2.8 f=50mm @ f/2.8, 1/100s, ILCE-7 @ ISO 800
