Wirklich ausgezeichnet, René. The question is how did you go up there? Did you hike up or is there some kind of mean of transport, at least partly? Just curious...
Thank you very much Joshua. the solution is in the picture. bottom left. In winter it is not possible hike. but in summer fantastically beautiful.

This image thread is truly amazing. The quality of the images seems to be increasing and since the A7 series cameras have become more and more mainstream, the number of photographers using one of this cameras is getting more and more. Kudos to everyone!
and Joshua.. your venice images are... pfffffffffffff wow!!!!

Thank you, René! Wow, your last image is jaw dropping
Joshua, Gary and Bob.. too much honor. It is so great the fantastic photographers here! I love this page. and your wonderful pictures. it motivates and inspires me a lot thanks for that.
Playing around with the Loxia 21. Disadvantage of such a beautiful lens + camera not looking forward to damaging it, for instance when using it on the ground.
A few at the Coast Guard Station this morning . A7r with 24 f 2.0 A mount / LA-EA3 adapter plus cpl. It chugs a few times to focus - but accurate, and there is no hurry with landscape photos. I tried to sell this lens a while ago - I am glad no one bought it.
Wow, love the photo with the golden light and tree tops René.
Bob, the one above is really nice. Great effect in the sky from the long exposure.
Still thinking about 50mm lenses, especially since I'm starting to realize that my CV 50/1.5 is both de-centered and that its field curvature is worse than I thought. That explains why the sharpness in my landscape shots is so inconsistent. What a shame when it's so good for many other things.
Awesome Helena! You know, I have to admit. You should keep the C/Y, sell the CV, and I would love to see you shoot the new Loxia 21!! That lens was made for you and your landscapes, really

Thanks Gregg! You are an evil tempterer. Loxia 21 looks great, but I'd prefer 18mm (not Batis though), so I have to think about it. CV 15 is great, but often slightly too wide for my taste.
If the C/Y 50 weren't so terrible when the sun is in the frame I would wouldn't need anything else (want to keep the Rokkor 58/1.2 though since I love using it in the forest in spring and summer). That's why I got the CV and it does the sun thing really well, but what's the use when I feel that it's not good enough for other types of landscapes.
Still happy with your Loxia 50?
Yes...I'm pretty sure it's here to stay. More testing between it, the Cron v4 and G45...but the Loxia is pretty hard to beat. Bob and I had a discussion just yesterday about the same thing!

Tired of the carnival images? Well, here is view of San Giorgio Island across the lagoon from San Marco Piazza and overnight parked gondolas. Sorry, there is still a person in mask there . BTW, it is a stitched image from 2 files.

Some B&W shots from C/Y 50/1.7:
Love how the images look like - your processing combined to Planar 1.7/50 rendering style is really good compo. Once I get my cameras back from Kolari I have feeling that I need to find my 1.7/50 from somewhere and see how I like it these days. Used it a lot before I purchased ZE1.4/50, but since then(=2009) usage has been minimal.
I have feeling that you might like Loxia 2/50. It's rendering style is not as characteristics as 1.7/50, but it has some qualities you like in CV 50. Tried to find some samples, but I it seems that I didn't seem to have many not before posted images already processed & online, these were all I could find:
Zeiss Loxia 2/50 FE @ f/2.8, 1/160s, ILCE-7 @ ISO 50
Zeiss Loxia 2/50 FE @ f/4.0, 1/400s, ILCE-7 @ ISO 100
Zeiss Loxia 2/50 FE @ f/2.8, 1/500s, ILCE-7 @ ISO 100
Zeiss Loxia 2/50 FE @ f/8.0, 1/200s, ILCE-7R @ ISO 100, Hoya HD CIR-PL 52mm
Thank you Samuli! Yes, the photos from C/Y 50/1.7 often have a sense of depth that is very appealing. I like what I see from the Loxia (nice examples above) and it's not too expensive, so maybe I'll give it a try. From what I have read the only thing people complain about is the bokeh, but it can't be worse than the C/Y 50/1.7.

Yes, boke can be distracting in Loxia photos - even above photos were shoot f/2.8 and f/4 the light concentration of boke circles/balls is making boke highlights not perfect, but I find boke overall enjoyable. I can't shoot (also *) Loxia 2/50 wide open, luckily boke quality improves very much to f/2.8 and is really good f/4 & f/5.6.
* also = the only lens I'm able to shoot wide open is Contax Sonnar T* 3.5/100 C/Y - all other lenses I close down stop or two to improve boke.
Some photos I experienced the lens when it was new @ f/2: 1 2 3 4 5 6
As you see large distance boke is problematic wide open, specially in corners - also I don't like the light concentration to edges of the boke circles/balls. Close-up boke is not that bad, naturally helps that there is always more boke quantity in close-ups.
