i'm curious since i rarely seen ice that clean, what distance and aperture are these shots at?
Thank you (and everyone else for Likes and comments)! I was lucky; the ice had been covered in frost the day before but strong winds had wiped it clean. It's hard and clear, like dark glass. Incredible to skate on, but I kept getting distracted by the patterns, so I spent more than half of the time creeping around on my knees. Fortunately, my partner is very patient.
Distance was about half a meter and aperture f/5.6. (Days are still dark so I had to use ISO 800 most of the time.) I prefer to shoot the cracks at deep water, to get a dark background. I have some more, but first some other shots to show context (CV 50/1.5):
Photo of Mountain Laurel (Kalmia Latifolia) flowers, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia taken at 2:00 PM on June 5, 2015. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens, ISO 100, lens set to probably f8 for 1/60 second. Processed in LR6,
Haven't shot much lately either...just a couple from the weekend while walking to dogs.

This lens produces some incredible bokeh!

Thank you for your valued comments Michael.
The processing is not always the same. Depending on the light and contrast of the output image. Either with Silver Efex or a separate preset in LR.

Thank you. I use Silver Efex also and was wondering if you did. I find the algorithms excellent for BW in it. Your work shows, however, it's not just the program, but what you can do with it.
This is the Sidney Lanier Bridge in Brunswick, GA. This was shot with the 28-70mm kit lens and cropped way too much. I was trying to be a minimalist and only took this one lens with me. I won't make that mistake again!
Even with the cropping, I'm still amazed at the resolution I can get from a full frame sensor vs. the DX sensor I recently switched from.
