That lens might be the ultimate Xmas light lens....😀
I was very skeptical when i picked this lens but now i am happy i did it...its fun when its dark. Has good bokeh in the day but we need those lights that can be turned into nice balls of beautiful bubbles.
Thanks to a forum member. Mine is still a mount that requires a converter to convert to Canon and then to Sony . I am going to test in a 6D as well as a direct minimal mount.
Mine also came with a close up converter all metal. Will post a short review. Lovely lens for sure
I've seen a million pictures of deer, and while many of technically good, and I'm sure the photographers quite enjoyed shooting them, I've seen a million pictures of deer....
What I've never seen before is a guy with a cell phone trying to take pictures of deer, at least in this manner.
I'm not suggesting his behavior is in any means appropriate, BUT, I think the photo is actually a lot more interesting and unique with the guy in it.
Deer in field = boring
Idiot in field with deer = fantastic social commentary that reflects today's total lack of common sense, how "photography" has morphed into shooting with a cell phone, man's total lack of respect for nature and more
I like the title Idiot in the field and also a deer in the picture
This is not to say that you should have only those long lenses and what not but to say that if you don't have one live with what you have but don't start chasing a wild animal.
That trioplan is pretty beautiful close up, but the unique rendering quickly becomes a bit overwhelming at mid distances IMO
Still I bet its a ton of fun to shoot with. I always love gear that makes me think "I can't wait to see what this ends up looking like" as I'm hitting the shutter.
I have to agree with Millsart concerning the man/deer photo. Total lack of respect for nature! But, I agree that it does make the photo more interesting, too. Tells a story...(man gets gored by deer!)

Lets hope he does this one day with a lion and see the outcome
And i continue with my obsession with the trioplan
Very interesting rendering! I may try to get one to have some fun. What exactly is this lens called. There seem to be different models?
A few from this morning. The bridge is the Bay Bridge near Annapolis in Maryland. 1st was shot with the A7 and the Sony FE 70-200 f4, the 2nd and the 3rd were shot with the A7II and the Canon 24-70 f2.8 L II. I will get a Voigtlander FE mount 15mm next years when it comes out. I think these three lenses will be my "travel" package.
Our Master in bokeh is back!!!
Thanks Manuel! If only shortly...I'm able to shoot a little this weekend, then work will consume me until just after Xmas. I'm already having 12-14 planned days delivering, and next week will jump to 14-16hr planned days
But....nevertheless
Happy Holidays to everyone!!

Well, you can take comfort... Gio has a real Santa Claus at home
The lens is Mayer Optic Trioplan 100mm F2.8.There was one for sale here but i missed it. Then searched a lot and found a very good and clean copy. Cant expect modern day sharpens but its just special when it does what it does.
