Always very nice to see and "study" your work... here we can also find the best lens catalog for real use (not boring graphics). Thanks to all for sharing! Thanks also to MedicineMan40 for the nice virtual tour to Costa Rica
Here two version of the same capture... second one is exactly what I wanted to do but it is out of focus
Thanks everyone for your kind words. Also there is too much going on these last few pages to be silent! Dave

Dave,
I'm happy to see more images with the 24-70FE on this thread and yours are just beautiful. It's had so much unnecessary bad press and I'm quite happy with mine and how it renders.
Pat
Pat - thanks. This lens evidently has its hits and misses. A pity because sharp copies are really good! Not about to get rid of mine. FYI its sweet spot is f/7.1 - just before defraction sets in.

I took the 7Dii + 300/2.8isii and the A7Rii + 70-400gii. After the trip I tallied up all the shots and I used the Sony 2.5 times more than the Canon. The reason is that we hiked daily, anywhere from 4-8 miles and for those of you who've been to Costa Rica know the hills are long and steep and the humidity high...that and the heat; the Sony rig was just lighter and I could push the ISO much more on the A7Rii than on the 7Dii and that helped in the canopy.
MedicineMan - your great pics are really getting me to thinking about retiring my Canon system. Wish the 70-400 had OS but does the IBIS help with that heavy of a lens? Also - did you use your 300 f/2.8 with the A7rII?

Fred - I think you are saving the best for last! Love how you captured the reflection in the Colorado River!

René - I'm really admiring your CV50 f/1.5 shots. If you had to choose one 50mm lens for landscape would this be the lens?
Last night we had the latest round of the UCI World Cup track qualifiers about at the Velodrome about 20 km from home and we wandered along, with camera of course. The A7RII proved a much better camera than my previous A7R for this sort of event, particularly with its ability to use longer lenses hand held and its better high ISO performance. Here are a just a few, including of our NZ team who are riding off for gold tonight against our southern arch-rivals - the Australians...
The stadium - three shots with the Heliar 15mm stitched in LR
The Russian womens coach encouraging his charge(r)s - Apo-Lanthar 180
Kiwis on the fly... - Apo-Lanthar 180
German mens pursuit team in close formation - Apo-Lanthar 180

Dear Dave. Thanks for your comment. The VC 50 is very diverse. Also sharp edges from Aperture 8. There are so many good 50mm. hard to say which one is the best. I think the Sony 55 1.8. (or Otus)
