Great shots, Butch ! Your son sure knows how to get pretty ladies together, and to take pictures of them .
Thanks Joshua, Yes he does have it tough. He works for a company that sells hair extensions and these images were some before and after images to show the changes. I knew he would need my help and not just my equipment!! Great shots, Butch ! Your son sure knows how to get pretty ladies together, and to take pictures of them .
Well, I got my 55 F1.8 FE yesterday and its pretty good! Here are some morning test shots with the new lens. Two are Panos, the middle one is a 4 shot vertical pano, brought my computer to its knees to process!
On the shuttle from the airport to San Miguel Allende we bumped into a girl that came for her best friend's wedding. The following day we bumped into each other again in the town center and this time we even met the bride. She was about to get married the following day and they would have a wedding procession in the evening right at the main square in the evening. And yes, she asked us to join the festivities.
As it turned out there were at least 3 wedding processions. Each group hired a group mariachis/musicians, a pair of tall mojigangas puppets in the shape of the bride and groom, they circled the center section of the town while dancing and drinking, a lot of drinking. The donkey was used to carry the booze in the old days and still a part of the festivities.
Here are 3 images related to the wedding. The lighting conditions were not the best and it was crowded but it was fun!
Joshua, stunning images! My favourite is the #1 from your last post. The FE 55 has wonderful rendering throughout.
Rene, excellent shots! I love the variety and styles
Bob, really nice! I have the FE 35/1.4, FE 35/2.8 glued to my wife's A7s and the Loxia 35. I have a hard time removing the FE 35/1.4, just for the AF alone
Joshua - very impressive portraits on the last few pages (p. 1258!)
toshiro - great set on p. 1262. Just wish you would post in larger size (flickr versions look mucho better)

^ Bergen Norway, yes? I was there in 2011 and loved it. Nice images!
Yes, that's Bergen. I like Norway, I just finished a trip there a month ago but I'm thinking to go there again already (but I always have a long list of places to visit )
Recently went up to Lake County in Northern California to see the aftermath of the big fires that were in the news this fall.
Although the place is buzzing with thousands of workers from the state, utility companies, and private contractors cleaning up, there's still a lot of devastation everywhere. Hundreds of burned out houses and cars and thousands of acres of burned out trees, fences, signs, etc.
Here are a few images, all A7RII and Sony 135mm STF which I used for its boquet, because I expected busy foregrounds and backgrounds and thought that blurring them out optimally was key in this situation.
