A few locals of San Miguel Allende.

The street musician plays classical pieces really well and the reflection on his left sunglass, viewed from us, is that of La Parroquia de San Miguel Archangel, the most recognizable landmark of SMA. The lady in white was the last image of sequential shots of 5 as I tracked her from the middle of the passage. She knew I was following her and veered off fairly close to me while I stepped to the side.

The Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 Mk II didn't have any problems tracking AF at this speed. I am really pleased with the tracking performance of the combo. The vendor image was taken with Batis 85mm.

Philippe - Beautiful detail from that APO. I guess I need to come to France again so we can swap lenses as we walk!

Went for a lunchtime walk today with the Voigtlander Ulton 35/1.7. This is a 10 image handheld pano stitched in Lightroom. The resulting DNG was just short of 600MB.

Hey, I became a FM member exactly 4 years ago

Back then I had just bought a Nex-3 for 150€. I had no idea about lenses and owned two or three Minolta lenses. Here I quickly learned a lot about photography and about lenses.

I think my photography never progressed as fast as in those first months of posting to the Nex images thread, I think one reason was that I was surrounded by photographers who were "better" than me and so I had to stretch. Before I had taken pictures just for myself, now I was exposed to a bunch of talented and passionate photographers which was a huge motivation to shoot more and so I came to use my camera almost daily.

Now 4 years later my cupboard look like this:

and I have a blog about those old lenses I learned so much about on FM which is read by tens of thousands every month.

So thanks guys for all that inspiration, motivation and knowledge

Ironically my a7 is at Sony for repairs but I found a few images in my archive:

Amazing images everyone! I'm stunned by all the photos on this thread.

Just a quick shot of one of my greatest friends in the world:

This page is full of great images from top to bottom, arduluth, Werner, hiepphotog, nadim, keerf...I "liked" many, but wanted to comment on a few, something I don't do enough of...

Joshua - Stunning shots from SMA. All are beautiful, but I especially like #2 and #3. I would bet the woman in white would love a copy of that shot.
Rene - Gorgeous black and whites. I love the framing and tonal range in these (that ZF 35/2 is a special lens!).
Philippe - Love the close-ups with the APO...must. resist.
Bob - Great walk around shots and the pano looks very good especially for 10 shots hand-held (maybe clone/erase the power wires?).
Phillip - I always like your pastoral images and the set above is quite beautiful...some look like paintings. I also love the cabinet shot...if only those lenses could talk! BTW, what kind of glass is that! No, not the lenses, the top two glass shelves! How could glass that thin hold up old those old (heavy) lenses!?

Aaron - Awesome shot of the northern lights. I need to get up your way when they're active. It's a bucket list thing for me. Besides, it's a good opp for meeting up.

Many thanks, Bob! Let me know if you do, it'd be fun to meet up. You don't have to get too far out of Duluth to see them. They can be incredible to watch when they're strong, but more often it's the excitement of the chase.

My son borrowed my Canon gear and lights (5DMarkII 85L 1.2) so I decided to tag along and compare some different Portrait lens with my A7II. Asahi Super Takumar 85 1.9 ; Sony FE 55 1.8 and Asahi Auto-Takumar 105 2.8 I was shooting from the side, thus no one looking directly at the camera. Natural light through small window as he was using flash.
