Thanks, people. Just waking up here, and the news exceed our worst fears. Thousands of people desperately calling up everywhere for their loved ones, and terrified when the phone rings, in case.... Yet life must go on unchanged, however trivial, else they win.

I heard the news very late last night, devastating events.
Philippe I'm glad you're ok but my words must be of little comfort
Has anyone heard from Sculptormic I know he was visiting Paris in recent days.
Thanks, John! I have no idea. I think Michiel has my phone number which he could use in case of need. Which is true of anyone here who needs any assistance. #PorteOuverte
The death count has just been updated to 127, with 80 more people classified as extreme emergency. And we all need to go on as though nothing had happened. #PrayForParis
I have just contacted my sister and her family in Paris.Fortunately they did not suffer.EU MUST act together now against fanatic islamists instead of blaa, blaaa, blaaa and doing nothing.
It is almost impossible to post a pic now or to find words.
To overcome the darkness we have to find both again.
My thoughts and feelings are with you in Paris, in France and everywhere

I know this is not a place to talk politics but the way it goes, in 20 or 30 years, Europe, or at least some countries in Europe, will have a very different face and will lose their heritage, culture, and identity. Sad but a scary thought. The more scary part is most of the politicians don't give a damn. Those countries are not melting pots like the U.S., they have long history, culture, identity, which may disappear or change fundamentally, what a shame.

Philip, our thoughts and prayers are with France. As much as I like to think life must go on unchanged, it will not be the same. Here in the U.S, after 9.11, things changed but we have to get used to the "new normal". Look at the security checks at our airports, look at the armed forces at subway stations, look at the security checks just for going into museums, concerts, sports events that we didn't have to deal with before. They already won in some ways.

Gregg, I miss the CV15/4.5 sunstar and flare resistance. It's not quite the same with the 16-35/4. I can't wait to get the new E-mount version!
Fred - the CV 15mm III is amazing. Very sharp corner to corner (my first copy was weak on the edges but my second copy is amazing). I love it so much that after using the 15mm and the Sony 16-35 on a Zion trip, I returned the 16-35.
I set the focus ring to infinity and F8 - and pretty much anything further than 3 meters is in focus. Great for hiking/landscape shots. And it is small and light to boot. Easily one of my favorite lenses for the A7rII.
Photo taken the evening of October 26, 2015 about 5 minutes before sunset, in Magic Hour, at the top of the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA. Image taken with my tripod mounted Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 800, lens set to f11 for 1/60 second. Processed in LR6.

I love this lens. I sold my Zeiss Distagon 15/2.8FE when I got this lens and haven't missed the size and weight.
