Photo taken at 6:34 AM on August 17, 2015 of a Doe White Tail Deer, Big Meadows, Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. Image taken with my tripod mounted "new" Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 1600, lens set to f4.5 for 1/100 second. Image cropped and processed in LR6.
As always, away for a 1-2 weeks and of course there are several dozen of pages with impressive picture and after impressive picture. This thread never ceases to amaze me.
Helena: Beautiful aurora pictures expertly captured.
Joshua: You captured just the right moment of that torero vs bull struggle.
Mike: Those landscape shots are very impressive. I like the first one best, but the others are great, too. Excellent job.
Michiel: Great lightning and detail in that container ship close-up. The framing is excellent, too.
Ronny: Just another series of amazing macro pictures. There is no much to say, just tipping my proverbial hat to you and not just once.
Bob: Nice pictures with the 35 1.4. I like the lightning in the shot two pages back very much. How do you like the lens so far? I'm still thinking about getting one too, once the price has come a bit further, but two units I toyed around with in stores here looked somewhat soft wide open at the point of focus. That made me wonder. Your f1.4 shot above looks perfectly fine, though.
Here are two rather modest shots. Probably because I still suck at Photoshop after all those years, I often feel that the shots taken with Leica lenses require less digital tinkering than those taken with other lenses. For whatever reason, I've noticed this even more so with the a7r2 than with the a7r. I'm not sure why, though.
Chris - I like the FE35/1.4 quite a bit. I wish it were a bit smaller but it's certainly very manageable. As for the IQ, still learning and experimenting. I think it's quite sharp and the bokeh is wonderful. Rendering is also quiet nice. I like the lens a lot.
