Those are beautiful akclimber! Love how the light is reflected in the water.
We have very similar landscapes here in Norway, but unfortunate not close enough for me to go to just to take some northern light photos. Btw. the forecast is promising for more lights the coming nights.
Thank you, Helena! Sadly, although the aurora forecast is good, our Southeast Alaskan Fall weather has arrived with high winds and torrential rains over the next few days :-( Southeast Alaska is a frustrating place for an aurora addict to live! :-)

Cheers!
We've had clouds the last few nights (US, CDT) of activity. Looks like more G1 and maybe G2 storming is being forecast... Good luck finding clear skies!
Just returned from a short trip to Austria. Unfortunately the weather was poor. The first day was sunny but too hot to do some hiking. So we made a small trip to some lakes in the so-called Salzkammergut...

I had a fun time at the dog park with my dog and my son (they chase each other) and my dog stumbled on this little guy. I grew up calling him a crawdad, but it could be a crayfish or crawfish. Regardless, I wish I had had a better lens to shoot him. I only had my Minolta 100/2 and didn't think to stop down any further than f/2.2 or f/2.5, what with my dog trying to "play" (eat) with him and a 2 year old boy wanting to pick him up. He was huge! Something like 5" long, without antennae.
Wonderful Aurora images, especially for people like me who have never seen this "live"... hope, soon or later, to be inside a similar show
@ecarlino: very nice captures of Avignon here and also Arles&Avignon in the precedent pages
@ebookman: Dale, thanks for your tests very, very interesting to my eyes but you feed my GAS every evening so please take a pause
Thanks Dale and thank your wife
Nice shot yourself... A7RII looks really nice in your hands
Really nice on the Aurora Helena and akclimber
Great shot Werner and Joshua
Manuel : Really nice macro
Great shot Terry !
Agree with others, so many beautiful Aurora Borealis shots on this page. Nice work Helena and akclimber! Thanks for showing southerners, like me, how beautiful a sight this is.
Otherwise, the usual stellar stuff on this page. Wonderful macros from Manuel, keerf, and Ronny. Ronny, you make that Zeiss 100mm macro really sing (I'm assuming that's what you used above) on this page and previous pages. Do you use extension tubes? In any case, very nicely lit, composed, and processed.

Thank you Jon! (and Ronny!) for the compliments.
and as always beautiful images from everyone. I'll have to wait a week or so before I can take anymore pics
After following this thread for many months, and shooting with both a Sony A7II and a Canon 6D, I've decided to take the plunge and order the A7RII to replace both previous bodies.
And I've decided to start posting pics here since I enjoy this thread so much.
Excellent work all around, btw.
So here goes. Playing around with various lenses and a 2 light setup at home last night with the A7II (testing various AF and MF scenarios).
Comparison of a 4 stitch shot and a single wide angle shot. The vertical 4 stitch shot was taken with a Super Takumar 50/1.4 and the single wide angle was taken with the Voigtlander Color Skopar 21/4. Both with the A7RII. This is a very tall Douglas Fir.
