Bob...The Batis 25 is very capable in your hands!
So, here are two pics of Gio being the good son that he is, allows his mom to indulge herself by painting his toe-nails, which Gio hates. Really I swear he does....
1st...A7rM and Summicron M 50 IV @f2
2nd...A7rM and ZM 35 1.4 Distagon @f1.4
Focusing distances are not equal, as I crept closer with the Distagon, but you can still see the diff in rendering
And as a side ...Summilux M 50 E46 pre asph thrown into the mix @f1.4
Rick, are these (very nice, BTW) shots with the 70-200 heavily cropped, or are you using tubes?
Jim, awesome, jaw-dropping!
Bob, beautiful as ever
Gregg, neat stuff!
Back to Giverny's amazing Monet gardens, with otus 55 and a tube.
I have really enjoyed the postings using the new Batis 85 and Sony 90 FE Macro. I want to join in but the fastest lens I own in this range is the 90mm Leica Elmarit-R. This is wide open at f/2.8 on A7RII

Hi Charles, enjoy the trip! I remembered that your wife is from Spain. Any particular region you guys will be visiting?
I enjoyed Spain tremendously and in a lot of ways. Although I was there as a student many years ago but my recent visit to that country was pretty much like the very first time.
Your selection of cameras is just great. I wished I had both cameras for my trip. The A7 II did very well though but I felt that it was a tad "resolution-hungry" because Sony announced the A7r II already but I loved the A7s for its low light capability.
Thank you Joshua Your photo series are always stunning!
We have now arrived in Madrid this morning, and on our way to Pondevedra,North West Spain to visit with Marisa's father who will be coming back with us to Australia.
My suggestion to anyone unsure of the A7rII, is borrow/rent one and try it out
Some quick shots on our journey
A7rII and 50 Cron IV
Photo taken the evening of August 1, 2015 about 10 minutes after sunset near the top of the Trexler Nature Preserve, Schnecksville, PA. Image taken with my tripod mounted "new" Canon new FD 500mm f4.5 L lens and my A7r, ISO 100, lens set to f11 for 1/15 second. Processed in LR6.
Just cropped, the 70-200 is not a bad close-up tool, I was very happy with the results .. All shot at 200 mm then seriously cropped. I imagine that even better results are possible with the new 42 meg 7rII. The lens is decent even at 200.
Ah....Burg Eltz! I've been there a few times...unfortunately both times in the middle of the day when the light is harsh...and a decade ago when I wasn't nearly as good a photographer.
I like the composition and color, but the fake T/S effect doesn't work for me in the second. A bit harsh on the transitions. The first one you posted, though, is awesome.
