Photo looking across Jordan Pond, Mount Desert Island in Acadia National Park, Maine; the North and South Bubbles can be seen at the far end of the Pond. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r camera and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens, ISO 100, lens set to f11 for 1/125 second. Processed in LR6.
Found a Vivitar Series 1 28/1.9 at a flea market, among various junk. The seller had no idea what she was selling, so I didn't try and haggle the 20 USD asking price... Vivitar S1 28/1.9 flare test by scepticswe, on Flickr

I just purchased a Sony A7R + Sony Zeiss 16-35 F4 to use for some landscape/seascape shots. Bought both items used on the buy/sell here at FM. For $1000 a used A7R seemed like a pretty good "value" for what I intend to use the camera for. I used to have a D800e + Nikon glass and got sick of photography for a bit, then bought a Fuji setup which I still have, and after shooting the Fuji I couldn't go back to the big set up again so giving Sony a try.
My first time using the A7R this weekend and conditions weren't ideal for what I was looking for but I grabbed a few shots one morning and one night. Found out after shooting my sensor is loaded with dust and smudges. Going in for a cleaning tomorrow.
I tried a couple of abstracts on the beach after the sun set. I didn't touch the saturation on these. Some minor adjustments in lightroom.
I decided to download one of the raw images at higher ISO (ISO 2000) and apply some quick PP. Here's the before and after. I notice that the noise pattern is a 'fine grain' patter at this ISO and cleans up nicely. It will be interesting to try this combo on my own . . . Hopefully at the end of this week.

Lovely shot, Gregg! And Steve, the third one on your sert was a joy. Ronny, please let me know when you are having a less-than-good-focus-day..:-) And, by the way, you didn't answer how you do it? Really just handheld and prefocused, and attempt to capture the flyer when the picture is sharp in the viewfinder?
Phillipe.. yes handheld... but this is a hooverfly... sometimes they stands still in the air for a few seconds, and then you have to be prepared
Great shots on this page

A few with my A7II and new Sony FE 90mm lens. All hand-held and using autofocus. Love the 5-axis in-body stabilization and this lens' auto focus abilities. - Chuck
