Photo looking across Jordan Pond, Mount Desert Island in Acadia National Park, Maine; the North and South Bubbles can be seen at the far end of the Pond. Image taken with my tripod mounted A7r camera and my Minolta CLE MC 40mm f2 M-Rokkor lens, ISO 100, lens set to f11 for 1/125 second. Processed in LR6.

For $1000 a used A7R seemed like a pretty good "value" for what I intend to use the camera for. I used to have a D800e + Nikon glass and got sick of photography for a bit, then bought a Fuji setup which I still have, and after shooting the Fuji I couldn't go back to the big set up again so giving Sony a try.

The Photography Blog posted numerous images, both jpeg and raw, using the A7RII with the Zeiss Batis 25/2 (http://www.photographyblog.com/previews/sony_a7r_ii_zeiss_batis_25mm_photos/).
I decided to download one of the raw images at higher ISO (ISO 2000) and apply some quick PP. Here's the before and after. I notice that the noise pattern is a 'fine grain' patter at this ISO and cleans up nicely. It will be interesting to try this combo on my own . . . Hopefully at the end of this week.

Phillipe.. yes handheld... but this is a hooverfly... sometimes they stands still in the air for a few seconds, and then you have to be prepared

Lovely shot, Gregg! And Steve, the third one on your sert was a joy. Ronny, please let me know when you are having a less-than-good-focus-day..:-) And, by the way, you didn't answer how you do it? Really just handheld and prefocused, and attempt to capture the flyer when the picture is sharp in the viewfinder?
