Anyways hoping to have this lens soon with a D810 to match. Keep on posting these beauts!
There’s NO way you can replicate film. People have tried, I have tried and failed miserably. If you want a film look, shoot film, period. Read some articles, they will say the same. For me, VSCO is just a “start” to create my own style... and I have. It’s just different from image to image. For instance, for night/evening portraiture, I almost never use VSCO.

@Donzo98 and iluxa007 -- screw you guys!
Hahahaha No seriously, keep the lens. But I will say this again and again, if I would NOT own a “background compressor” lens, I would never buy a 58G. I would get an 85mm f/1.4G instead, without thinking twice. I just happen to own an amazing 70-200VRII.

Haha, there's not even a Costco around here.
I went full retard with my 17% off at Robert's. The wife wanted a camera so the D7000 was the cheapest "capable" body I could think of and I got an 18-70 to go on it so she doesn't finger bang my primes.
I got myself the new 35/1.8G FX to try. ...........and an X100s....strictly as a play toy.

As I've explained before -- I've just accepted a job offer and won't be able to shoot much for the next 3-4 months. I prefer not to own stuff that I don't use. When I'm ready to buy my next I'm sure Don will sell me his Right, Don?

I sold it to fund an A7S... but didn't like the A7S... so I sold the A7s.
Then I bought another 58... since the one I sold to Alex was already gone.
So the a7s wasn't good? I was actually look to get one so that I can use some older nikkor ai lenses with it as a light weight travel option.... What was the focus peaking like? Did you try that for manual focus?

The A7S was great... just not my cup of tea at this moment. The focus peaking was excellent... but I'm not much of a manual focus guy.
