Now, these are stunning! Amazing. Maybe you can share how you edit your images for some of us? The skin tones are perfect and the edit is nice and simple!
There is no secret No VSCO or Replichrome or whatever. Good light + color checker passport. I overexpose skin tones by about 1/3 stop, dial down contrast + apply a custom curve that lifts shadows by .5 stop + increase clarity a bit, saturation and vibrance to -8/-9, desaturate greens to -35/40 + hue to +15. Shooting film also helps -- once you've shot a a few dozens of Portra/400H/Provia rolls (exposed for shadows) without overexposing them like crazy and chasing that "Jose Villa look" you pretty much know exactly how to cook your images in Lightroom.
Just got the 58mm and am trying to get used to it. Haven't had much opportunity to use it but went out yesterday to give it a try.
Nothing special but it is my first time shooting with it. I definitely think I will have to get used to the lens. I don't think lenses like this should be judged right away
Although I bought this for people and such I am mostly a landscape shooter and I still want my 50ish to do landscape. I own the 50mm 1.4g rightnow and if I plan to sell it I have to be confident the 58 will do good with landscape.
This is a 4 shot pano

, what a sweety! She could be doing a lot worse and still look damn cute!
Went for a walk in the snow tonight. Came home to a bad guy knight who was wielding a hockey stick as a gun! To say he was a confusing criminal is an understatement!
P.S. If anybody is wondering if you can get this lens wet, you can. I have had it in 1 downpour in which my D800 and 58mm were soaking wet. Again tonight, with wet snow it was soaking wet and so far it keeps on ticking!

A couple of shots from over the weekend at Wat Saket (The Golden Mountain temple) here in Bangkok. You have to climb up about 300 odd steps to the top of the temple to pray!
I'm not sure how to word this, so I'll just throw this out there. How do you guys handle the rest of your lenses with the 58? I used to love the 35/85 combo, A LOT, but the 58 throws a wrench into both of them since they're so similar. The 58 just makes my lineup feel really weak because it's like the entire lineup IS the 58 and the 58 is the only thing I use.

Far apart enough not to get into each other's business :D

I re-worked everything around my 58. I sold my 85mm. I stopped wanting to buy a 35mm because for me, 35mm and 58mm are too close. So prime-wise, I'm now at 24mm, 58mm, and 135mm. I generally carry only my 58mm because it's the pictures are nice and the lens if physically small and light.
