A very special moment for me was the tomb of Michelangelo Buonarroti in the church of Santa Croce, Florence. Lighting wasn't the best and the crowds were always there, but this image with the 58mm captures the moment.

Notably, B&H shows the Nikkor 58mm AF-S f/1.4G to be marked-down by $150 US, as of the 25th of November, 2023. If this promotion continues through the end of December, I just might act upon it. I had been hoping for a pre-owned 58G to eventually be available, locally, but after several years, it is time to consider buying new, with a warranty, during a price promotion.
I did test-shoot a pre-owned 58G, locally, some time ago, but by the time I viewed the images, at home, and then returned to buy the lens, another buyer had acted.
@RexGig0 For these premium lenses, I would also consider eBay where the used markdown is considerable. Given the Yen exchange rate, select sellers from Japan are even better. I bought several expensive items from Map Camera, and they are simply awesome. They currently list several 58's in the low to mid $800.

B&H is rock solid. I agree with you if you can swing it, buy new when price is low for warranty is not a bad idea.

As much as some dislike them, I've not done wrong with B&H and any issues I've had they resolved.
FWIW Mine may end up here on B&S in a few days so keep a lookout unless you feel more comfortable with a retailer like B&H.
Some people don't like bigger corporations, B&H still has a brick and mortar store but they are quite large. Personally I've never had a problem with them
