I think I probably would have gone for the D850 and held onto my lens kit though. The color rendition on the D850 is said to be at an improved level of performance from what I've read online. That all said, the main thing is to shoot with whatever gear makes you happy because really....all the modern gear is top notch. My approach has been to choose the lenses I want to use first, then get the corresponding camera body, which currently is the Nikon D750 and the 58mm. But then again, I'm a retired Happy Snapper and don't make money with photography, a reminder that all our priorities are different. I'll be curious to hear what you think of Canon's dynamic range and low light performance, that's an area Nikon seems to have an advantage, although perhaps not enough to matter in practical usage.

Nikon is still a top performer. The D850 blows the 5DIV out of the water.
But that's the problem with most people, they look at specs!
I don't care for any of that, my priorities kind of changed. I'm looking at skin tones more than anything else.
DR, slightly better ISO performance, MP, FPS - none of that matters to me.

Haha, the problem is most people looking at specs? Lol.
Enjoy your new gear Elijah, that’s all that matters. But be careful making such generalizations, haha.

Do you have a public Flickr account? I love your work!

Ok, I need to seriously shut up I have said enough, nobody listens to me anymore
I'll just keep these changes to myself, sometimes I'm a freak when it comes to gear.
I know It's just a tool but... every little change that's important to me, I buy/sell/trade. That's the beauty of this hobby.

Thank you for the kind words!
I do but I don't use it. I post nonsense there. I actually share a lot of work on here believe me or not, perhaps more than anything.
I stopped updating my website quite some time ago, I don't use facebook either.
I guess I'm most active on instagram @Lisyanyphotography

Nah, you’re just fine, don’t shut up. You’re a terrific contributor to FM forums, keep on posting. I was only teasing a bit.
I think changing up gear can be a real positive to get the creative juices flowing. No worries, the enthusiasm of learning new gear can be super fun and take you new directions. I’m certain you will do great stuff with your new rig. But my guess is you will regardless of the rig, but as you said a fun part of the hobby is being able to experiment with different gear.

True that. I still have a handful of shots I need to post on this thread before veering into the 50L thready
As far as I remember, this wedding had the coldest temperatures in my wedding career. I believe it was 3-5 degrees outside.
I was only shooting for 3 min or so and my fingers went numb!
