My shots don't prove anything, you already know what this lens is capable of!
WAIT, whut?! you sold it?
Yeah, I'm trying to see if I miss it. I bought a 50, so if it can't give me what I need then I'll just buy another copy. Hopefully I get a copy as good as the one I just let go.
I just can't wrap my head around spending that much for a 50mm-ish lens. Maybe because my very first DSLR lens was the nifty fifty @ $100.
You’ll miss it. I did the exact same thing. I refrained from reacquiring the 58mm as long as possible but eventually I had to have it again. So much fun shooting with this lens.
I have the Zeiss Milvus 50mm f/1.4 ZF.2 and although it’s manual focus, it’s incredibly easy to focus and the bokeh and rendered background is better than the 58mm for me, I can’t speak for everyone, but I really like it and the lens is only $1199. It’s also much sharper than the 58mm wide open. Anyway, those are my thoughts.

A walk in the woods, f1.8. Still getting to know this lens - sometimes it just nails the focus and looks great and sometimes it's a total mess (not in the case of this photo).
