my (new to me) 58 arrived yesterday. Got a good deal on a used one.
Haven't managed to take it outside yet - just a quick indoor shot of my favorite model (gf). I know it's not the best example (especially compared to some of the photos in this thread) - but I like the way it works so far.
A hand full from a little lifestyle shoot for work the other day at the local floral shop. This still has to be my favorite lens. I use it for everything. Studio, product, lifestyle, kids, pets. EVERYTHING. The 105 1.4E is getting jealous.

Stunning shots dude!! Processing is spot on as well!
BTW, congrats on your wedding! (I know I’m a bit late)
@Elijah, thanks man! Your shots are what turned me on to this lens almost a year ago. I've tried going with different systems for my professional work, but I can't get over the 58 rendering.
Everything with the wedding went off without a hitch, it's been a long time coming.

I've been using m43 for a bit thinking I might move my D810. Then I came upon this thread. Picked up a used 58mm f/1.4. I really love this combination.
I’m back! I ditched the 58mm awhile ago to try out the 85mm 1.4g and 35mm 1.4g combo. Had too many focusing issues with the 85mm and didn’t really like the 35mm focal length too much. So happy to be reunited with the 58mm.

Glad you're back! I'm kind of different, 35G and 58G are my favorite but 35 is becoming more favorite lately...
35mm 1.4g is definitely an amazing lens and it’s a lot more versatile than the 58mm. I enjoyed it for event/wedding work but I guess I’m just not into the FL.
This lens looks amazing, it might not be up to modern taste (...) since whatever any forum I read it seems to be all about sharpness (that's where Sigma and Fujinon seem to rule and to have found their niche of fans) but the whole render of this lens is simply fantastic, I wish some day to have at least the chance to test it, nowadays too expensive for a hobbyist but never say never...
Would like to see more headshots to figure it out.
