Jason, a couple of those have such an amazing 3D look!
nice captures.
I got my 58 today!
After a completely unscientific test, I determined that +16 works for micro adjustment on my D810.
anyone else with a D810 do a real test?
I've never shot a chart in my life.
I used some rubber duckies! !
As Elijah would say...posting to keep this thread alive and relevant.
Some more of the CrossFit Open 16.3 workout.
Not that anyone cares...but analyzing my CrossFit keepers since 2/25/2016...that equates to 438 shots which 55% come from the 58mm. 31% from the 24/1.4 and the 85/1.4 rounds out with 14%.
If I can only grab one lens....wonder what it'll be?

Congrats!! I would shoot a bar code of any kind and see when the purple or green fringing would dissapear.
That's when you know the lens is spot on! (Jason would say this too)
BTW, I sold the 85 1.4G and got like the firth copy of the 1.8G version
I know you're a fan of the 1.4G version...

85/1.8G
It's like a stripper; we know it's gross and has no redeeming qualities, but we still kinda want it.
After an entire day of contemplating whether or not to sell my 58mm 1.4g in order to purchase a 85mm 1.4g, I finally came to the conclusion that I should stop worry about what lenses I have so much and just keep shooting.
so after just one day of shooting with the 58, basically just an hour...
I can see why a few of you have told me that I will not pick up my 85 1.4G too much after getting the 58.
1. it's a wonderful FL, 58. so close to standard/50, yet knocking on the door of portrait/85. even though it's closer to 50, I think it's vibe is closer to 85. but still, close enough to standard to be so much more versatile than 85. I work with children and couples quite often, the 58 will allow me to work closer to them, which will be helpful. to be able to still destroy backgrounds, and be closer = epic tool.
2. I think the sharpness thing is way overblown.
3. color and bokeh is great.
4. light weight, but balances really well on my D810. I think it'll feel even better on my D610 tho.
now I know why you guys are all such a close family.
