Do you typically pull a lot of clarity from your files to simulate film more? Or is the lens just rarely sharp-ish wide open?
Looked through pages and pages of this thread and just can't put a finger on it. So I figured it must be your style, which is really nice by the way, or the lens/body just need some adjusting.

though i like the build quality of the d3s, i feel like you gave up a lot of features with that swap :/
To me the dynamic range, usable high ISO, lightweightness and tilt screen were great features.. too great to lose on older tech.
Very valid points my friend. Letting go the D750 was definitely hard. Originally, I was planning on purchasing a D810 for all my landscape and surf stuff but while embarking on my hunt, this D3s popped up for XXXX practically brand new (69 actuations). Purchasing this "new" D3s for a price lower than what I sold the D750 was something I simply could not resist lol.

I give up. A lot of people think my shots are soft. WTH! I need to find a better way to post images on here. I must be doing something wrong... The lens is NOT soft. It's sharp as a tack on both of my D3s's.

Lol well thats why I asked Elijah if it pertained to his editing style since his images all seemed soft-ish.
You either have a better copy, it was fine tuned to your body or it's his editing style....which was the premise of my question, to Elijah
My images may be soft on here. Like I said, it's something I'm doing wrong when exporting an image. Gaaaah.

Dude. Never ever go back to your old processing. This is probably the best processing I've seen from you... or maybe it's because of fall colors & sunlight/rim light
Man, I'm jealous of the colors you folks get over the seasons. Hawaii has this uncanny ability to stay clear and blue for majority of the year. Although, I suspect that some of you may actually have no problem trading shoes lol.

Do any of you have retina displays? here's a wedding I thought would be ideal for me to prove to you guys that my 58G aint soft. This wedding blog post has 70-80% of the shots taken with a 58G.
