All I know is I'm so glad my DF stopped being an asshole after 3 months. I'm guessing there was a big chunk of something stuck in the AF sensors that finally unlodged.
The DF just renders perfectly for the 58, so different from the D610. I think it's a byproduct of the low MP sensors.

It's funny you say that. A couple of weeks ago I noticed that I'm able to get better results with my D600 then my D800. I made a mental note to re AF tune my 58mm on the D800 but now I'm thinking otherwise.

I only have one catalog that I've had since LR2 and gets upgraded every year. its grown quite large... sitting at around 45 GB for the catalog alone.
Noooooo! Bad bad idea! In this case, watch this video. I watched it a couple years ago and I'm glad I did... Shooting weddings at an average of 3-4k shots a pop, there's no way I will store this stuff in ONE catalog
I seriously cannot imagine how slow your lightroom is now with all of those images

my lightroom is slow lol. was bugging me since i have everything on an SSD with 32 Gb of ram and 780GTX 2 Gb video card with a Core i7 4820k.
just did a wedding this weekend and it was the prettiest one I have photographed to date. Very magical, ethereal feeling and I fell in love with this shot as soon as I saw them fall into it. It was past sunset, overcast and drizzling... and it just felt stunning.
