Considering that is already up to nine pages with barely any demonstrations of the lens from users here I figured it might be nice to start fresh.
+1 Perhaps rename this thread The 58mm F/1.4G Picture Thread. And I would be very interested in seeing some night and astrophotography shots with this lens to see the amount of coma

Might as well rename it to my 58 thread cause it seems like I'm the only one who bought it
I'll shoot for those sometime tonight. Gonna run out and grab some food
Wow, lots of peeps seem to have their panties in a bunch about this lens.......
Photography is a form of art, it's not about MTF charts, meridonial and sagital lines. It's about whether an image really stirs your juices on an emotional level. The way this lens renders out of focus areas is sublime. The selective focus when used wide open and the character of the bokeh lets a photographer draw attention to a specific point in the frame and form an emotional connection. Surely, these characteristics make the price tag an insignificant, or at least, secondary issue?

Mine is on order. I can't find one in stock anywhere. Know of a place that has it in stock?
I preordered mine from BuyDig. Got it a few days after cause it was backordered, but they had it within a day or two.

Just popped over from the Canon forum to take a look- and I must say that I'm impressed. Your test shots appear to embarrass the 50L on all of the metrics that count- especially in LoCA control.
How do you find the focus speed of this lens? Thanks!
It's funny that many people I know have had their lens for a week plus now and I against my best judgement went ahead and used the NPS Priority Purchase Program and have still not heard a word on my lens. I could have bought it from both Amazon and Adorama as I have seen it in stock at both places.. Ugh.
