My only FD lens....and one of the most used of all my lenses, the FD 35mm F2.8 TS (Tilt Shift)
Here, on the A7, in late October on the shore of Ullswater, in the English Lake District. Tilt used on all.
Wow, there's some really nice images in this thread!
Phillip, enjoyed your review of the 35/2.8, thanks for sharing that.
I've had my eyes on the 20/2.8 for a while, but the prices haven't been that great. I missed an auction on one that went pretty cheap which rekindled an interest in the FD glass. I got lucky last week and found the 17/4 at great price and in very good shape.
I've just had it out for a few test shots and it looks pretty good so far. Vignetting is pretty noticeable wide open, but I'm looking forward to see what this little gem can do stopped down. Here are some initial test shots, all wide open.
In my review of the nFD 2.8/35 I wrote that the outer hull is made from metal. I came to that conclusion mostly because metal is shining through where the paint has worn of.
Now someone on SAF told me that it is in fact polycarbonate with an outer electro plating that mimics metal but I find it hard to confirm that. By the feel it could be both.
Do you have any idea how to confirm this without putting a drill to it?
Phillip -- You need to clean that sensor, dude! Or else spot your images in PP. Shame to see such wonderful shots with the distraction of debris on the sensor.
