p.7 #1 · A7r with Canon glass. Anyone excited?

For you! Plenty of us actually need a great functioning AF for our photography, we don't just shoot static scenes or portraits. The best sensor in the world won't help if the AF isn't up to scratch. 5D + A7R sensor still wouldn't be used as much as my 5D III for most of my work. But hey, for macro, landscape and architecture, hell yeah give me the A7R for sure. But if I were travelling say to Africa for Safari and I could only take one camera, it wouldn't be the A7R, it'd be the crappy 5D III.

That is why I keep 1Ds2 around...it gives me plenty of AF and colors that I need and my 5D2 to be replaced by A7(r) for different needs which I found no supports from canon at this moment. Why so harsh with your comment

I be honest to take the Sony's horrible jpg images that shown here ( https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/1247661/17#11890240 ) than working with my latest canon files. I want to go back the 5Dc and 1Ds2 colors which sony is currently offering with better ( Resolution + DR). Imo, A7(r) is the best 5Dc upgraded that we have missed for a long time.

No harsher than your comments about how bad Canon's new cameras are. Our realities are quite different.

Anyhow, why keep your 1Ds II for landscape? No LV alone these days makes it of no desire now. Using a TS-E lens on 1Ds II vs 6D, 5D II, 5D III is a PITA. Cameras are just tools for the job, and IMO 1Ds II as a tool has been long surpassed. I'd at least be jumping on the 1Ds III.

Here we go again...why I have to change my 1Ds2 when I like its colors so much. I don't shoot with tripod so LCD is no use for me. 1Ds3, 5D3, 6D are nicer in hi-iso but those are not what I look for at this moment. I can't upgrade my tool just because canon have newer tools, it got to have something more special than that otherwise why get something I already have and yes, I am still waiting their better sensor to come around in any forms.

Ok if you don't use a tripod, so you don't shoot landscape much I guess. I don't think Sony's A7R will reach it's full potential for you. Better saving your money for lower pixel density sensor, where you won't notice camera shake so much.

Yes please, can't wait to see A7R + Canon Lenses examples and review !! May replace my 1DsII as Canon don't want to sell gear to high res customers...

It seems Sony has created a response in many fronts with these cameras.
It hasn't been this exciting across the various platforms in a very long while..

Funny that not even a Canon product makes such impact on a Canon-based forum (also see the number of clicks for each of the Sony A7 postings!). This alone says everything.

People in the Nikon forum care much less about it since they have an alternative. Canon doesn't.

It's in Thai, but you can take a look at the new camera. I have bought a lot of lenses from the Thai man in the video

Thanks, Lars. A7(r) camera is indeed small, smaller than I though it would be

Nice video, looks like the live view mode is nice and clear.

Yes, I too have noticed the lack of interest in the new Sonys over on the Nikon board. Says a great deal IMHO.

Focus peaking in LiveView ?? wow !! is there any canon bidy having this ?
We really need an A7R review from a Canon user !
What about AF speed with Canon+smartIII lenses ? Is it totally unusable ?
I would use it for landscape mainly on tripod, and could my 1Ds2 when AF is really needed.

What about flashes ? I use Canon 430EX and some radio triggers for flashes studio, I guess all that won't work at all on A7R ?
