At the moment my L plate (from a 60D), that's attached to the metabones III with Hejnar's spacer, requires me to have the allen wrench on hand for frequent retightening. However, Hejnar's spacer has two screw holes, and using both should keep the L plate locked and not constantly unscrewing. The L plate screw ridge needs to be at least 3 cm in order to get the two screws into the Hejnar spacer, so the generic L plate at Amazon that Fred suggested (:L PlateLinkLink) should work perfectly (as long as you can find another screw). Here's a sunset from last night behind my school shot with the 90 TS-E. I'm liking the files over my 5D II so far

I am curious how the A7/R handles with the larger lenses (I am thinking the 70-200 2.8 II here).
The 70-200 isn't a small light lens - is it awkward to shoot with on the A7/R given the size?
I am thinking the grip would be needed to make it comfortable to hold.

This Sony sensor really has me excited, I’m just seeing things big and small that I’m not use to.
I'm enjoying MF on my a7r a lot, it just gets easier the more I do it.
Here's a sample that I just don't see with my other body's, hand held/NO sharpening done/MF.
My 5DIII is a great camera but at 100% crop I just don't get that kind of detail and resolution, even using the same lens.
These posts are reminding me of the D800 posts after it's debut.

i purchased a canon EF lens from a FM member without reaizing that the adaptor needed for EF to Sony was more expensive than the lens (Metabones), MY MISTAKE, the seller will not allow me to return it. IS there an adaptor that
you know of that will allow me to use EF 85mm 1.8 on the A7, will allow 1.8 aperture and is not so costly. thank you joanlvh

There have been conflicting reports either way, one which even indicated MFT-type shutter shock when using image stabilization on a Canon lens (interaction between shutter closing and then feeding vibration into IS). I'm getting mine today and this is the first thing I'll be trying. Btw, if it is an issue it wouldn't affect long exposures but more the ones between 1/100 and maybe 1/8.
I tested this tonight. On my 70-200mm f/2.8 IS II the results seemed acceptable. However on my 35mm f/2 IS I definitely see a blur problem when IS is used, at least at certain shutter speeds.

Those coming from the canon dSLR camp, how does shutter speed and black out compare to the 5D2? I know it won't be close to the 1D series from another review but haven't seen or heard a comparison to the 5D or 6D...

I think there are two critical differences though: 1) I can use my canon lenses with an a7 and 2) the a7 is significantly more portable than any of my SLRs for travel as well as being more inconspicuous for street and event photography.

Dudes, I just put online a new serie done with A7R. The more I shoot with it, the more I'm amazed with this sensor ! DR in shadows is just unbelievable for us Canon shooters ! Nothing like banding, pattern, color smudges, but all clean, eventually fine film look noise. WOW ! Really a pleasure to work on such raw files ...
This A7R is sure not the perfect tool, but regarding IQ and resolution it is in another world. Next 1Ds will have to be very good to make me come back !

The A7R seems quite laggy.
From imaging-resource.com tests:
Shutter lag: (using prefocused values)
A7R: 163 ms
6d: 59 ms
5d3: 61 ms
D800: 43 ms
1Dx: 38 ms

Yes, coming from 1DsII, the lag is noticeable but not a real problem as A7R isn't a fast AF camera anyway. What is more annoying is the blackout time which is very long. 5DIII is also lot longer than 1Ds so dunno how it is noticeable for 5DIII users.
